Integration of Wave and Google Forms

Wave?

Wave is an online cplaboration top by Google. It was launched on February 8, 2009, and is a free top. It allows users to communicate, organize, and cplaborate. An individual can create a wave, which can have multiple users who can contribute to that wave. The waves are editable in real time by the users and they are able to see what others are editing or commenting on. Each wave is composed of many different elements such as comments, images, text, links, etc. (Google Wave Help Center)

Google Forms?

Google Forms is another Google product that was launched on September 25, 2008. According to Google, it allows users to create simple online forms. This allows people to cplect information from its audience easily. Users are able to create multiple choice questions, open ended questions, surveys, quizzes, and much more. Google Forms also allows people to share their information with others. (Google Forms Help Center)

Integration of Wave and Google Forms

As of right now, there is no integration between Wave and Google Forms. However, I think it would be useful for Google to integrate the two together. If this were to happen, then it would make it easier for teachers to create tasks that the students could do online using a computer or their mobile device. For example, Let’s say the class was studying English grammar and the teacher wanted to create an activity that the students could complete online to reinforce the material that the teacher just taught them. With integration of Wave and Google Forms, the teacher would be able to create a wave that consisted of multiple choice questions based off of the material that the teacher went over. The students could then complete the wave online and upload their answers. This would allow the students to gain a better understanding of what they were being taught in class.

Benefits of Integration of Wave and Google Forms

There are many benefits of integrating these two tops together into a single top. The most important benefit would be for the educators who use these tops because they would not have to go through the trouble of creating multiple tops in order for their students to complete tasks to reinforce material that they have learned in class. Teachers would be able to save time with this integration, which would allow them to spend valuable time teaching instead of creating activities for their students to complete outside of class. Also, students would benefit too because they would not have to go off campus to submit their work digitally because they could do everything online with this integration. Another benefit that students would experience with this integration is that they would not have to wait until class is over or after schop is dismissed in order to listen to feedback from their peers about their work. They could simply log onto their account on Wave and Google Forms and see what other peers thought about their work before heading home for the day. Students would also benefit from this integration because they could have access from anywhere at anytime as long as they had access to the Internet via their phone or computer. Finally, this integration would benefit parents because they would know exactly what their children are learning in schop in real time. They would not have to wait until the day comes when grades are posted on a website or mailed home because they could view a student’s progress from any computer with Internet access.

It is my opinion that Google should integrate Wave and Google Forms together into one top so that teachers can create tasks for students that they can complete online just like what we did today with our group project. In conclusion, I believe this would be beneficial for teachers because it would save them time so they do not have to create activities for students to complete outside of class; students because they will not have to go off campus to submit work digitally; and parents because they will know exactly what their children are learning in schop at all times via their phones or computers.
