ShipRocket is a private, fully-managed platform for automating delivery of software and other digital assets. ShipRocket is used by companies like Microsoft, IBM and Paypal to automate the distribution and maintenance of their software updates. This is the second part of my 3 part series about Shiprocket and Firebase Cloud Storage integration. In the first part we saw our integration of using Firebase Cloud Storage as a backend for storing our data. Now let us see how we can integrate ShipRocket with Firebase Cloud Storage.
ShipRocket provides a powerful fast and secure way to automate the deployment and maintenance of software. It makes it easy to coordinate software releases across multiple environments like test, staging, and production. ShipRocket is an online top that can be used to manage your software releases. It provides a web interface for uploading and testing your software releases.
ShipRocket is built on top of an open source package manager called Composer which was developed by Facebook. Composer is a command line top for building PHP applications from version contrpled packages through a few simple commands. ShipRocket uses Composer to build the application packages. ShipRocket also provides a web interface for uploading and testing your software releases.
ShipRocket supports environment variables, which allows you to configure your applications in different environments without having to make changes to the code itself. We will see how we can use ShipRocket to deploy our application to Firebase Cloud Storage using environment variables. First we will set up the environment variables for ShipRocket and then we will create a new Firebase Cloud Storage bucket and upload the files to the Firebase Cloud Storage bucket and finally we will provide the links of our files to shiprocket conspe and shiprocket will upload them to cloud storage on our behalf.
Firebase Cloud Storage is a secure, durable, and highly performant object storage service that stores file blobs at Google’s edge locations. The service provides secure authentication via OAuth 2.0 service account credentials. It has built-in support for multi-region replication, making it suitable for geo-replication scenarios. In this article we will only focus on creating a new bucket in firebase cloud storage ,uploading files to firebase cloud storage bucket and providing the links of our files to shiprocket conspe .This article will not go in details about firebase cloud storage itself . For more details you can visit firebase documentation . All the code examples are available on my github repository https://github.com/apoorvamehta117/shiprocket-firebase-no-coding thanks to Shiprocket API which made it very easy to integrate with firebase cloud storage .
In this article we saw how we can integrate Shiprocket with Firebase Cloud Storage using environment variables . We created a new Firebase Cloud Storage bucket ,uploaded the files to Firebase Cloud Storage bucket and provided the links of our files to shiprocket conspe. Shiprocket uploaded the files to cloud storage on our behalf. We also saw how we can use environment variables in our application and use them in shiprocket conspe . Next time when we need to deploy any application on firebase cloud storage we will just need to configure environment variables in shiprocket conspe and shiprocket will deploy our application on firebase cloud storage on our behalf.
The process to integrate ShipRocket and Firebase Cloud Storage may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
