Amazon EC2 is the cloud computing platform that Amazon offers to businesses and individuals. Since it was released in 2006, Amazon EC2 has grown into a large set of services for compute, storage, and networking. Firebase Cloud Storage is one of the storage solutions that allow you to store your data in the cloud easily. The integration of these two services will help you store your data in a safe place and access it from anywhere. In this article, I will talk about how to integrate Amazon EC2 with Firebase Cloud Storage.
The first thing you need to do is to sign up for an account on Amazon EC2. After signing up, you can create an instance and get the private IP address after launching the instance. To use the private IP address, you need to configure the firewall rules. The Amazon EC2 security group feature allows you to control the network traffic for each instance. This helps you define the type of traffic permitted to reach your instance.
After creating a security group, you can add rules to it or modify existing ones. After creating security groups and adding rules, you can launch instances in them. By default, your Amazon EC2 instances are considered as public-facing instances. In order to make your instances accessible only by you (or your team), you need to enable private DNS resolution. Private DNS resolution is achieved by using an Elastic IP address.
You can change the default security group by using an IAM role. For example, you can change the default security group to limit the incoming traffic and permit only SSH connections on port 22 from a specific IP address or range of IP addresses. You can change the default security group even if you have launched instances earlier in this security group.
In case you want to connect your instance to an on-premises network or a virtual private cloud (VPC), you need to create a VPC and a gateway. A VPC consists of one or more subnets, which have their own routing tables and network ACLs. This helps you create instances that are connected to your on-premises network and others that are connected to your VPC. Also, you can use a VPC peering connection to create a direct connection between your VPC and another one without an Internet gateway. You need a VPN connection if you want to connect your instance to your corporate network over the Internet.
After launching an instance, you can connect your local computer to it via SSH. You can install Linux packages on your instance using package management commands including yum , apt , zypper , dnf , etc., using the package manager of the Linux distribution that is running on your instance. You can use Bash shell scripts or utilities such as sed , awk , tail , grep , cut , etc., on your instance. You can also run Node.js applications on your instance and connect them to other AWS services, such as RDS and S3.
By integrating Amazon EC2 with Firebase Cloud Storage, you can take advantage of both services for storing your data in the cloud and accessing it from anywhere. This will help you keep your data secure and accessible at all times.
