For the purpose of this assignment, we will focus on integrating the Instagram Account with Freshdesk.

Instagram Business allows businesses to interact with customers through its app. Users can fplow their favorite brands, see new products and get exclusive content from the brands. Users can send direct messages to the businesses, which will be delivered via the inbox of the business account.

There are two types of accounts in Instagram Business. User accounts and business accounts. To become a business account, users need to fill out forms for verification. Once the account becomes verified, users can promote their business by adding description and logo to their profile, create posts with images, descriptions and hashtags. All these features allow users to interact with their customers more effectively than ever before.

Freshdesk is a cloud-based customer support software that allows businesses to provide support in real-time from multiple channels such as phone, email and live chat. Each ticket created in Freshdesk will be associated with an account in Instagram Business. Whenever a user creates a ticket in Freshdesk, a notification will be sent to the corresponding business account. By setting up filters in Freshdesk, users can decide to which account the notification should be sent. Filters are based on keywords, tags and priority. Thus, it allows users to decide whose attention they want to get – either high or low priority tickets or tickets containing specific keywords. If the ticket contains any of the mentioned keywords, notifications will be sent to the relevant accounts only. For instance, if a user wants to filter out certain keywords from a certain account, he or she can use words like “tickets” or “order” in filters. In this way, notifications regarding order problems will not be sent to any other account but to the one who is responsible for them. The process of sending notifications is automated, so there is no need for manual actions for sending notifications.

Once a notification about a new ticket has been received by an account in Instagram Business, it will appear in the Inbox section within the app. The account owner can view all notifications by tapping ‘Inbox’ at the top of his/her profile page. The notifications can be viewed in chronpogical order or unread messages can be sorted according to their assigned tags – which allows users to view only the notifications they have not yet viewed. The notifications can also be filtered based on their assigned tags, so users can choose which notifications they would like to see first. For example, if a user has created three different tags (such as “Order”, “Support” and “Question”. for different types of tickets, he or she can select one filter for each type of notification and thus see only notifications related to his or her interests.

Tapping on a notification will open a conversation thread between the user and the account owner in Instagram Business. It will display all comments made by the account owner about that particular notification. When the conversation is finished, a notification saying “The conversation is over” will appear on both sides of the conversation thread. Once it is over, users can go back to their main Inbox page by tapping ‘Inbox’ at the top of their profile page again. They can also tap on any notifications they have already read to view them again.

This integration allows users to get direct messages from their customers and respond quickly to them before they forget about their questions or problems. Moreover, Instagram Business is connected with Facebook advertising, which means that users can connect their Instagram Business accounts with Facebook Ads Manager and thus serve their ads on Instagram while promoting and marketing their products on Facebook at the same time [1].
