Integration of Freshdesk and OneDrive

In this article, I am going to give you a brief introduction of Freshdesk and OneDrive in order to let you know what these two companies do. Then there will be a comparison between these two companies and finally, I will end my article with a conclusion.

Freshdesk

Freshdesk is a software-as-a-service (SaaS. based customer support platform that allows the customers to communicate with their agents online. It also provides a self-help spution for the customers so that they don’t have to wait for an agent to check into their problems.

Freshdesk is a product of Chennai-based cloud software firm Freshworks Inc. It was founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shan Krishnasamy. It has offices in San Bruno, California, Mountain View, California and Singapore. In 2013, it received its first round of funding from Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners.

Currently, the company has around 1,400 employees. It has developed a top called Freshcaller, which is currently being used by more than 100,000 small businesses worldwide. It is also used by over 50% of the Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Intel, Oracle and Sony. The company has offices in the US, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia and India. Its clients are spread across over 60 countries.

OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud storage service that allows users to store files online in order to access them from multiple devices. It gives the users 15 GB free storage space which can be increased to 100 GB by referring friends to the service. The users can get up to 5 TB of storage space by paying $50 per year.

OneDrive offers a web interface and mobile apps for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile platforms. The users can also upload files through the Windows Explorer or Office 365 for business users. The users can download the app on any computer and access their files from other devices without syncing. The users can use one account across all their devices or create different accounts on each device they use.

OneDrive was launched in August 2007 as SkyDrive by Microsoft. Later in July 2012, it was renamed as OneDrive when Microsoft rebranded its products under the “One” brand name. It became part of Microsoft Office Online when Microsoft Office 2013 shipped in October 2013. In June 2015, Microsoft announced that it would be releasing new versions of OneDrive for Android and iOS that would allow users to sync files from their mobile devices directly to OneDrive while they were offline. In December 2015, OneDrive became fully available on all major desktop platforms through its official website along with Windows 10 support. In January 2016, Microsoft announced that it would be dropping the “SkyDrive” brand from OneDrive as part of an effort to streamline its product offerings around three brands – OneDrive, Office 365 and Dynamics CRM
