Zoho Connect is one of the more recent additions to the Zoho Office Suite. It allows for easy integration with third party applications, without having to download additional software. Originally developed as an application to integrate with Salesforce, it has since grown into a top that can connect to any web service. Some users have used it to integrate with Dropbox, Twitter, Basecamp, WordPress, and many more.
Acuity Scheduling is a web-based appointment scheduling application that tracks the availability of customers or clients. Using this information, it can automatically schedule appointments for customers or clients. It uses Google Maps to automatically plot the location of customers or clients. It also has integrated email notifications, which can be sent based on custom rules, such as reminders of upcoming appointments.
Integration of Zoho Connect and Acuity Scheduling is extremely easy. Both programs use REST APIs, which means that they can communicate via HTTP requests. There are several tutorials available online that show how to integrate both programs, but this will just show how to connect Acuity Scheduling with Zoho Connect. You can find these tutorials at Zoho’s support site, here. http://support.zoho.eu/wiki/display/CONNECT/Connect+your+app
The first step in connecting the two programs is creating an account with Acuity Scheduling. This can be done by visiting their website here. http://www.acuityscheduling.com/. Once you have an account created, you will be able to access your account settings. Login at the top right corner of their page, then click on “Account Settings”, then click on “API Access” (the fourth link down. From here you can create an API key for your account. Be sure to make note of this key; you will need it later.
Next, log into Zoho Connect (this can be done here. https://connect.zoho.eu/. and navigate to the “Get Apps” page. From this page you can add applications from third-party sites. In the top right corner there is a search bar where you can enter the name of the application you want to add to your Zoho Connect dashboard. In this case, we would type “Acuity Scheduling” into the search box and press enter. The results returned will show a link to Acuity Scheduling’s site and a “Get App” button next to it. Clicking on this button will take you to a page that asks for your API key from above and asks if you want to add a new connection or edit an existing one. In this case we want to create a new connection so click on the “New Connection” button. This takes you to a page where you can enter all your information about the third party application. On this page you have the option to select what type of data you want to retrieve from Acuity Scheduling. In this case we want the “Availability” data so we check that box and click on the “Next Step” button at the bottom right corner of the page. This takes us to a page that asks for some general information about your application that it will retrieve from Acuity Scheduling. You can leave all of these fields blank except for “App Name” (this should be the name of your application. and “API Key” (this should be your API key from above. The other fields should be filled out automatically when you enter your API key. After filling out all this information, scrpl down and press the “Save Changes” button in the lower right corner of the page then click on “Done” in the top right corner of the screen. This brings us back to the main integration screen where we see our newly created connection listed in the “Integrations” cpumn with its status set to “Saved” and its status message saying “Connection saved successfully!” If we take a look at our Dashboard we should see our connection listed in the “Current Integrations” cpumn next to our other connections. If we click on our new connection we should see all our data that we entered for our application earlier in reverse chronpogical order. If we want to filter this data we can do so using the drop-down lists below the table of data.
