Google Tasks is a free online task management application introduced by Google in 2006. It enables users to create and manage a to-do list and share them with other people through email or a shared calendar. There are two ways to access your Google Tasks, either through the website at tasks.google.com or through Gmail’s sidebar. You can add tasks by sending emails to [email protected], or by using the “l” shortcut when composing an email. You can also add tasks by using the “Add a task” button in Gmail’s sidebar.
TickTick integrates with Google Tasks so that users can add TickTick tasks into their Google Tasks accounts. This integration allows TickTick users to access their tasks from anywhere they are. After signing in Google Tasks account to TickTick, TickTick automatically adds a link to the Google Tasks account (called “Sync with Google”. to the right-hand side of the main window. TickTick saves all Google Tasks into a single list called “Sync List”. Users can switch between TickTick and Google Tasks modes by clicking on the “Sync List” view. TickTick uses its unique tagging feature to organize all tasks into categories. For example, if you add a task to do some work at home, TickTick will tag this task with “work” + “home”. This tagging feature means that you can find all tasks tagged with “work” anytime you want without having to search for them in Google Tasks. The integration also allows users to update a task from one place and have it reflected in both the TickTick and Google Tasks accounts. Also, Google Tasks users who have not signed up for TickTick can still access their tasks from TickTick via the “Sync List” view (but they cannot update or add tasks.
The integration of TickTick and Google Tasks offers many advantages for both TickTick users and Google Tasks users, as well as for people who use both services. Firstly, it offers convenience for working personnel who need to do more than one job at a time. As we know that many employers allow their employees to work at home during weekends and hpidays, these employees often spend more time doing home chores and less time doing work related tasks. That is why they might miss important deadlines. However, with TickTick integration with Google Tasks, employees will be able to track their work related tasks from wherever they are, whether at home or in the office. Secondly, because of the ability of adding tasks from inside Gmail via the Sync List view, it would be much easier for Google Tasks users to manage their tasks with TickTick instead of using Google Tasks alone. Thirdly, the integration will reduce the number of duplicate entries by combining all tasks into one list instead of creating separate lists for each project. Fourthly, because of easy updation of tasks from both TickTick and Google Tasks sides, the integration reduces the possibility of miscommunication when cplaborating with teammates. Finally, due to the integration between TickTick and Google Tasks, users no longer need to keep multiple program windows open on the desktop while working on multiple projects at once.
