Integration of PDF4me and AWS IOT

In the recent years, cloud computing has become more and more popular. Cloud computing allows users to use software provided by an IT provider via the internet. It is the same idea of using software from a local computer but it is done with a cloud provider and the applications are loaded into the cloud provider's computers, virtual machines or web servers. Cloud computing allows users to access files and applications from any location with internet connection. The concept of cloud computing is very similar to what we do with our smartphones today. Smartphone applications are loaded to the phones and can be easily accessed anywhere as long as there is internet connection.

Another advantage of cloud computing is that different users can share resources like computer power and storage. This means that if a company is not using all the computing power in their data centers, they can rent out some of their space to other companies.

Cloud computing can be classified into three different types. Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS. and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS.

Software as a service is a model where an application program is hosted and delivered over the internet. The user only needs an internet connection and a web browser to use the applications. With this type of service, users are not responsible for maintaining the network, servers, applications, storage or any other components. They just have to pay for the services they use.

Platform as a service is a model where an application platform and programming language are provided to users over the internet. Users are not responsible for developing or maintaining the application but they have full contrp of the application and its data. The PaaS provider provides the platform and programming language while the users develop the application.

Infrastructure as a service is a model where hardware, operating systems and software platforms are provided by an IT provider over the internet. The IaaS provider provides users with hardware, storage, networking, security and any other components required to run an application. Users only pay for the services they use and do not need to invest in physical hardware or maintenance of the infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services (AWS. is one of the most popular cloud providers with a wide range of services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), etc.

The PDF4me system has been developed by AWS in cplaboration with HP Labs, Sony Electronics and Lenovo to transform printed documents into interactive documents using software called "Luminance". Luminance is an image processing software that converts documents into interactive PDF documents. The PDF4me system makes use of luminance to turn documents into interactive documents through a web interface. Using PDF4me, users can annotate text on documents, add pictures and videos, highlight portions of text and also integrate hyperlinks to make it easier for readers to find references. The system also allows user to save an interactive document into a library for future reference which works similarly to how people save web pages on their computer for future reference.

The goal of this article should be to explain how PDF4me integrates with AWS IOT. To achieve this goal we will describe how PDF4me works, what is AWS IOT and how it integrates with PDF4me.

Integration of PDF4me and AWS IOT

In order to use PDF4me, users need to create an account with Amazon Web Services (AWS. first. Then, they can upload documents from their computers or directly from their printers using their computers or mobile devices to PDF4me website. After uploading the document into PDF4me website, they can sign-in again into PDF4me using their account created in step 1. Then, users can view their documents online or download them onto their computer/mobile device. Users can also annotate text on documents on PDF4me website in various ways such as underlining text, highlighting text, adding notes to text, adding pictures to text and adding links to text. They can also take snapshots of pictures embedded in their documents directly from PDF4me website and upload them onto their accounts for future reference.

After uploading a document into PDF4me website, users are charged based on how much their document is viewed by others or how many times their document is downloaded from PDF4me website onto other computers/mobile devices. If users want to download their document from PDF4me website onto their computer/mobile device without paying for it, they can simply print out their document from their printer using HP ePrint technpogy which will automatically connect them back onto PDF4me system without having to create another account on PDF4me website again.
