Benefits of Integration of OpsGenie and Notion

Integration of OpsGenie and Notion

The integration of OpsGenie and Notion allows users to access Notion alerts directly from the OpsGenie dashboard. This integration enables OpsGenie users to manage their alerts directly from the Notion dashboard. When an alert is received by an OpsGenie channel, it will also be delivered to the corresponding channel in Notion. Once an alert is managed in Notion, it will be removed from the channel in OpsGenie. This integration works both ways. Users can also push alerts from OpsGenie to Notion. Furthermore, users can create their own custom annotations for alerts pushed to Notion. Additionally, OpsGenie users can also take advantage of Notion’s activity feed to see how their teammates are interacting with their alerts. There are three ways OpsGenie users can integrate notifications with Notion. Push Notifications . Push notifications are available for all channels that support them. They are triggered automatically when an alert is created or updated in the corresponding channel in Notion. For example, if you have set your Watchlist channel to trigger push notifications for any new items added to it, then every time a new item is added to the Watchlist channel in Notion, you will receive a notification about it. Custom Annotations . OpsGenie users can also create customized annotations for alerts pushed to Notion. These annotations are similar to custom annotations created for alerts pushed to Slack & HipChat. The annotation will be available for other OpsGenie users who are receiving the same alert. For example, if you have configured your Slack channel to create custom annotations for any item added to it, then every time an alert is added to the Slack channel in Notion, the alert will include a custom annotation that you created for that alert. You can tag it or provide a comment similar to how custom annotations work in Slack. Activities Feed . Notion users can also see all interactions that occur with alerts that were pushed to them. This includes annotations and updates made to the alert. Each alert includes a “View History” option that allows users to see what happened with that alert as well as all annotations associated with it (such as who added them. If you want to see more details about all interactions with an alert including those made directly from the OpsGenie dashboard, click on the “Activity Stream” button found on the alert detail page in Notion. Activity Stream . The Activity Stream provides a clear and comprehensive overview of all activities related to an alert. It shows all pushes that were made for that alert as well as comments and annotations created for it. The Activity Stream is divided into two tabs – “Recent Alerts” and “Alert History” – which enables users to view recent activities related to an alert or all activities related to an alert respectively. To view the Activity Stream for an alert, click on the “Activity Stream” button found on the top right corner of the alert detail page in Notion. Here is how the Activity Stream looks like. To view recent activities related to an alert, select “Recent Alerts” from the tabs located on top of the Activity Stream section:
