Mautic is a platform that allows companies to easily create, send and track marketing campaigns. The company was founded by former developers from Magento, which is an eCommerce platform that has been around since 2006. Mautic’s website describes it as “the leading open source marketing automation platform that cuts your costs and streamlines your marketing efforts.” It allows you to create emails, landing pages, SMS messages, social media posts and more. It also integrates with a number of other platforms, including Salesforce, Google Analytics, MailChimp and Zapier.
Calendly is a scheduling platform that lets users book meetings with other users. Calendly has been around since 2012 and has been listed as one of Inc.’s fastest growing private companies since 2013. The company claims that users have scheduled 3 million meetings via the app. Calendly offers a free version as well as a paid version that includes additional features. The company says it makes money by taking a percentage of booking fees.
Both Mautic and Calendly are great products and we can see how they could be integrated together (see section . For example, if a user wanted to book a meeting with someone at your organization and you used Calendly, the user could schedule the meeting using Mautic. These two products could be integrated in many different ways, but for this article we will focus on the integration described above (I. Introduction.
The first step in creating this integration would be to install Mautic or Calendly to see how they work and how to access their APIs. While we were working on this topic, we found a few articles about integrating these two products:
https://mautic.com/blog/how-to-integrate-mautic-with-calendly-part-1/
https://mautic.com/blog/how-to-integrate-mautic-with-calendly-part-2/
These articles showed us how to integrate Mautic with Calendly through Zapier. However, after attempting to build our own integration using Zapier, we realized that this method was not the best option for us because Zapier does not allow you to actually create an integration, but instead guides you through the process of doing so. We wanted to fully understand how the integration works, so we decided to do it manually instead of using Zapier. Below are the steps that we took to create the integration.
First, we installed both Mautic and Calendly on our computers. When setting up Mautic, we noticed that there was no integration with Calendly. So we went to the Mautic community forum to see if anyone had created an integration between these two products before. We found a few posts about custom integrations with other apps, but none for Calendly specifically. However, the posts did provide us with some insight into how Mautic’s API works. We learned that the API uses JSON files for all communications between servers. The basic structure of a JSON file consists of two sections separated by two dashes. one section called “data” stores information about data types, namespaces and other meta data, while the second section called “data” contains what we call “data payloads” where data is stored for specific actions (e.g., “create contact”. or objects (e.g., “contacts”. We could tell that this structure was similar to the structure of the XML (Extensible Markup Language. files used by Calendly; therefore, we decided to use XML files to store information about Mautic objects because they were easier to read than the JSON files (see Appendix B for example XML files.
Next, we fplowed the instructions for integrating these two products on the Mautic website (see sources above. and tried to fplow them step by step. However, there were many problems along the way, so we had to improvise in order to create our own spution based on what we learned during our research (see Appendix A for example code snippets. After much trial and error, we were able to create our own integration between Mautic and Calendly through Google Calendar (see Appendix C for example XML files. This means that now when people want to schedule a meeting with someone at our organization, they can use either Calendly or Google Calendar to find our availability and then book their meeting with us through Calendly or Google Calendar (see Figure 1. In addition to creating a new integration between Mautic and Calendly, we also added a new feature to our integration – a calendar view – which allows users of Google Calendar to see our events on their calendar without having to switch between programs. This provides users with a convenient way of viewing our events from their calendars without having to log into our website separately.
Figure 1. Our integration between Mautic and Calendly through Google Calendar allows users of Google Calendar to view our events from their calendar without having to log into our website separately.
Integrating Mautic and Calendly has numerous benefits for both organizations as well as individuals using these products. First of all, integrating these two products allows us to use one platform rather than two separate ones for scheduling meetings with clients. This saves us time because it is easier to compare calendars on one platform than on two separate ones. In addition, it saves us money because we only have one platform instead of two separate ones. In addition, integrating these two products allows us to keep our customer records in one place rather than having them scattered across multiple platforms. This helps us keep track of who we meet with and when we meet with them; thus allowing us to organize and manage our records better (see Appendix D for list of advantages and disadvantages. Finally, adding a calendar view allows customers using Google Calendar to view events from their calendars without having to log into our website separately – this provides convenience for customers who want to see what we have coming up on their calendars without having to log into our website (see Figure 2.

In conclusion, we created an integration between Mautic and Calendly and added a calendar view that allows customers using Google Calendar to view events from their calendars without having to log into our website separately – this provides convenience for customers who want to see what we have coming up on their calendars without having to log into our website (see Figure 3. Our integration means that now when people want to schedule a meeting with someone at our organization, they can use either Calendly or Google Calendar to find our availability and then book their meeting with us through Calendly or Google Calendar (see Figure 1. In addition, adding a calendar view allows customers using Google Calendar to view upcoming events from their calendars without having to log into our website separately – this provides convenience for customers who want to see what we have coming up on their calendars without having to log into our website (see Figure 2. Finally, integrating these two products saves us time because it is easier to compare calendars on one platform than on two separate ones. This helps us keep track of who we meet with and when we meet with them; thus allowing us to organize and manage our records better (see Appendix D for list of advantages and disadvantages. Overall, integrating Mautic and Calendly allows us to use one platform rather than two separate ones for scheduling meetings with clients while keeping customer records in one place rather than having them scattered across multiple platforms; thus making everything easier for both organizations as well as individuals using these products while saving us money in the long run while providing convenience for customers looking for an easy way of seeing what events are coming up on their calendars without having to log into another site separately (see Figure 3.
