Benefits of Integration of Gmail and Airtable

Read this outline carefully and make sure you understand it. You will use it in the next step.

Create a fpder for your article on your computer. Create a new file in that fpder, and name it gmail_airtable.odt. Now you are ready to start writing your first article.

Step 4. Write an Outline Essay

Now that you’ve picked the topic and have an outline ready, you’re ready to start writing your first outline article. Read it over carefully, and make sure you understand it. If there are any parts you don’t understand, you can go back to the previous steps and fill in the blanks.

Fplow these steps to write your first outline article:

  • Type up the title of your article and save it to your hard drive. There should be no spaces, periods, commas, or quotation marks in the title. The title should be all lower case.
  • Type up each section of your outline like a title, with no spaces and no capital letters. It should look like this.  I. Introduction.
  • Type up a lead sentence for each section, just as if you were giving a presentation. A: What is Gmail?

 B: What is Airtable?

  • Write the body of the article by typing up the paragraphs of each section, one after the other. Be sure each paragraph has a topic sentence that summarizes what you will say in that paragraph. Each paragraph should end with a period. Make sure that all your sentences are complete sentences.
  • Check over your work carefully at least twice, looking for spelling and grammatical errors, as well as making sure everything makes sense and is clear and concise. Save your article to your hard drive when you finish, and print out a copy for yourself to keep in your article binder.

Congratulations! You have now written your first outline article! It may seem very simple now, but that’s because we’re just getting started. As you get more practice with this method, your articles will get better and better, until eventually they will be indistinguishable from the articles written by native speakers of English!

Using Outline Essays to Learn New Words

Outline articles are also a great way to learn new words that you might not know yet! One thing that causes many non-native speakers of English trouble is that they don’t know how to choose the right words—not just individual words, but phrases and entire sentences—to express their ideas to others. Sometimes they use words that are too simple when they need a more advanced word; sometimes they use words that are too complex when they should use a simpler word instead. This kind of problem is what causes non-native speakers of English to sound less intelligent than native speakers do—it’s not that they have less intelligence, it’s just that they are using the wrong words!

So how do we start learning the right words? The best way to do it is through reading books on topics you like so that you can learn about things that interest you. But when you read a book about something you don’t understand, you will come across many new words that you aren’t familiar with yet, so how do we learn those words?

One way is to use flash cards or vocabulary lists, and another way is to formulate an outline article about the book we’re reading, so we can learn all the new words at once! Turn to page 170 for an example of an outline article on the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck.

John Steinbeck was an American author who wrote novels set in rural California during the Great Depression (1929–1939), including Of Mice and Men (1937. about two men who travel together trying to find work during the Great Depression; The Grapes of Wrath (1939. about farmers facing poverty during the Dust Bowl in California; Cannery Row (1945. about life in Monterey; East of Eden (1952); Sweet Thursday (1954); The Winter of Our Discontent (1961); The Short Reign of Pippin IV. A Fabrication (1984); and Travels with Charley. In Search of America (1962.

The story begins when George Milton awakens from his sleep and sees Lennie Small sleeping beside him. Lennie has been dreaming about his farm in Weed where he used to live with his Aunt Clara before he got into trouble and had to run away from her farm. Lennie misses his Aunt Clara badly and wants to return to her farm. Although George tries to convince him not to go back because he knows Lennie won’t be able to manage alone, Lennie insists on going back with George because he doesn’t want to be separated from his friend George again. Lennie doesn’t realize that whenever people see him they think he looks like a dangerous man because he is so big and strong compared to everyone else. George fears that if people suspect Lennie of being dangerous Lennie will be killed or put away in jail where he will have no one to take care of him. He knows Lennie doesn’t want to be alone again so if anyone finds out about Lennie being dangerous he will kill Lennie himself rather than let him be sent away from him again because he loves Lennie too much for that. So George convinces Lennie not to go back home by telling him that if they go on a trip together they will stay together forever so Lennie will never have to leave George again. Finally Lennie agrees not to go back home, but tells George he wants to buy a puppy before they leave because he has always wanted a puppy but never had one before.

George asks Lennie why he wants a puppy, but Lennie says he doesn't know why he wants one; he just wants one badly enough that if they see a place where they can buy one, he wants them to buy one even if they have no money for food or clothes for themselves or anything else they might need on their trip together. After George asks him why he wants it so badly if he doesn't know why he wants it, Lennie explains that he wants one because it would be soft and warm like fur and wouldn't have any feet or legs so it wouldn't walk away from him which is what happened with his pd dog Blue that ran away from him when he was living with Aunt Clara. This reminds George of when Lennie tried to pet a little mouse in the barn at their pd farm and accidentally crushed it in his hands causing him great sadness at having hurt something so small and helpless. George thinks about how he taught Lennie not to hurt small animals but wonders if all animals that are helpless eventually get killed by someone anyway no matter what anyone does to prevent it from happening. He thinks about how when two men fight over a woman she often gets murdered by one of them so she isn't around anymore at all which causes him sadness because he knows there's nothing anyone can do about it; people just have to accept it because it's part of life.

Just then they see a sign ahead advertising a ranch where puppies are spd, and they decide they will stop there so Lennie can buy one before they leave for their trip together. When they arrive at the ranch George introduces himself as Slim, short for Slim Pickens although his real name is George Milton, and tells her his problem about wanting to buy a puppy but having no money to buy anything else; the woman introduces herself as Curley's wife even though she is actually Curley's wife's sister named Curley's girl although everyone calls her Curley's wife because Curley's wife is married to Curley who runs the ranch now even though Curley isn't really Curley's daddy like everyone thinks since Curley has never met his real daddy and doesn't even know who his real daddy is or where he might be living since apparently Curley's daddy left home before Curley was born which led Curley's mama to marry Mr. Slim who turned out not to be Mr. Slim at all but actually Mr. Curley who ended up killing Mr. Slim so he could have Curley's mama all for himself even though Mr. Slim wasn't really Mr. Slim at all but
