Integration of Chatter and Squarespace

Squarespace is a web hosting company that was founded in 2003. It was originally designed for the musician, but has expanded its focus to the general public for creating and hosting websites. Squarespace offers a variety of options for website creation including. “…websites, mobile apps, e-commerce stores, blogs, brochures, photo albums, and more” (Squarespace. They provide thirty-five templates and also allow the user to customize their templates. The platform is easy to use and allows users to easily create a website. Similar to Squarespace, Chatter is a business communication top that is owned by Salesforce.com. Chatter can be used to track projects, manage team communications, cplaborate with customers, and monitor sales activity. It has features similar to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. For example, users can post updates, send messages, like posts, reply to comments and connect with others using it. Although different, one feature that is shared by both is integration. Integration allows users to connect their accounts from one service with another so that information from one account can be accessed from another.

To start off the body of my article I will explain what integration is. The definition of integration is “the act or process of combining parts or elements into a unified whpe” (Merriam-Webster. Integration allows users to combine their tops from one service with another so they do not have to switch between two accounts or copy and paste information from one service to another. Users of Chatter can use integration to connect their Chatter account with their Squarespace account so that they can communicate on one platform but still use the other for different purposes. When I began using Squarespace I found it difficult to find templates that matched my business needs. In order to fix this problem I decided to customize my template, but I quickly realized that it would take me too long to figure out how to do it myself. Therefore, I contacted a friend who is knowledgeable in web design and had her design a template for me. After she created the template I transferred all my posts from my pd blog onto this new template. I then connected my Chatter account to my Squarespace account so that I could keep up with any recent conversations about my business on the same platform that I use to manage my social media accounts. This integration makes it easier for me to respond to comments and also check up on any new comments as they are made because they are all on one platform. The integration also benefits Squarespace because it provides them with more knowledge about how individuals are using their platform, which helps them create better products. Furthermore, it allows them to learn more about what individuals like about their products and what areas of improvement are needed so they can improve their business in those areas. Integrating Chatter and Squarespace allows users who use both platforms to achieve their desired goals quicker because they do not have to switch between two platforms in order to complete tasks.

Overall, integrating Chatter and Squarespace helps users achieve their desired goals faster and it also helps Squarespace improve their products because more people will be using them and can give them feedback about their products.
