Basin is a platform that allows its users to create, edit, save and review searchable notes. It offers features for users to set reminders, add files, tags, comments, and links into their notes. It also lets you share and collaborate with other users, as well as the option to make your notes private. Users can use it via mobile app on iOS and Android devices.Basin was created by three people who were frustrated with the tools they were using at the time to save information, so they decided to create something better. From start to finish, Basin was built in two months. The team bootstrapped during the first few weeks, and quickly started to grow from there. In June of 2016, the company received $3M in funding from Greylock Partners. In January of 2017, the company released its second product, Calendly.Calendly is a web-based tool that allows users to schedule meetings easily without having to go back and forth over email or text. With Calendly, users can input information such as date, time, and number of attendees into a form, and then select from a variety of date and time options for the meeting. Once this process is complete, Calendly will send out a link that can be shared with the attendees, which they can then click on to book their spot in the meeting.Calendly currently integrates with Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365, Exchange, iCal, and many others. You can also sync it with your own calendar if you don't want to use one of the options listed above.
Basin has announced an integration of its platform with Calendly. This integration allows users to create meetings with documents attached to them within Calendly by selecting "Create Document" in the event description. To do this, you must access the "Add Documents" tab on your event's screen and choose "Upload File" from from the drop down menu. You'll then be prompted to choose the file from your device or upload it directly from your computer. Once this is done, you will have access to a file in your event description that you can then share with other attendees by sending a link to them via email or text message.Basin will receive direct feedback about the meeting's attendees through the file upload feature. Additionally, all files uploaded to an event are stored on Basin's servers, so even if a user unsubscribes from an event before the meeting takes place or doesn't attend at all, the company still has access to all of their files.
This integration allows both companies' users to get more value out of each service they use. As a user of Calendly, I can add files that I know I will need for my meeting directly from within the event description page on my calendar. This saves me time when preparing for meetings because I don't have to switch over to another tool in order to get these files ready for my meeting. Additionally, I don't have to worry about forgetting a file or whether or not I have everything I need because I can just upload it directly from within Calendly.Basin gets direct access to a potential pool of users for its Docs product (a similar product to Google Drive or Dropbox. by allowing Calendly customers access to its product. This gives them a chance to see what the product is like for themselves and make a decision about whether or not they would like to start using it for their own personal or business needs.Additionally, by getting feedback through the files that are uploaded during meetings, Basin gets insight into what types of tools its clients may want for their own purposes outside of scheduling meetings. This could lead them down new paths of innovation that could prove valuable for them down the road as they continue to build out their company.C. Additional ThoughtsThe reason why this integration is powerful is because both products solve very distinct issues that many businesses face on a daily basis. Calendly does what it does very well, offering an easy way for people who want to meet up with each other in person but who don't want to spend hours trying to figure out how to coordinate their schedules. Basin allows its users to create searchable notes that can be shared or kept hidden behind a password; it offers a simple way to keep track of information that you may want others outside of your organization to see or that you may only want certain members of your organization to see. By bringing these two products together, both companies are able to offer more value to their respective clients and beyond that, they're able to offer new kinds of opportunities for growth that they couldn't have come across otherwise.
