The AWS IoT is a programmable, Wi-Fi-enabled handheld input device based on the Amazon Dash Button hardware. This button allows Amazon Web Services (AWS) users to automate an action in the AWS public cloud.

About MongoDB

MongoDB is an open-source document-based database management tool that stores data in JSON-like formats. It uses flexible documents instead of tables and rows to process and store various forms of data. As a NoSQL solution, MongoDB does not require a relational database management system (RDBMS).

Integration of AWS IOT and MongoDB

AWS IoT platform is a service that enables secure and scalable communication between Internet-connected devices (such as sensors, actuators, embedded devices, smart appliances and more. to support a variety of use cases such as connected homes, smart cities, industrial applications, wearable devices, mobile communications, smart grid, and many others.

MongoDB is a leading NoSQL database that provides fast storage-engine performance for data-intensive application development and operational needs. It has been used in a number of IoT projects and has become the most widely adopted NoSQL database in the world. Using MongoDB with AWS IoT allows you to connect your sensors to the cloud while using the MongoDB wire protocp to program them. The MQTT protocp can be used to connect a device to the cloud.

Integration of AWS IOT and MongoDB

The integration of AWS IoT and MongoDB enables you to connect and contrp connected devices in the cloud. With this, you can take advantage of MongoDB’s ability to scale across multiple nodes, including Amazon EC2 instances. This can enable you to add new devices to your system without interruption or impacting performance.

To get started with AWS IoT and MongoDB, you can create a device identity on the AWS IoT conspe and then register the device with a cloud-based server that you have created. You can use a public key from an X.509 certificate or a shared symmetric key to encrypt your device identity so that it is safe from unauthorized access. You can also encrypt messages between your devices and the cloud by using a shared key.

Once the device has been registered with the server, you can send commands to your devices. These commands can be sent using web services or the HTTP API. If you are using the HTTP API, you can create a simple REST API using any programming language that can handle HTTP requests and responses. Once you have received responses from your commands, you can store them in a database. To do so, you can use the MongoDB Wire Protocp (MBP. to connect your devices to an instance of MongoDB running in the cloud. This enables you to analyze the data generated by your devices and take action based on these analytics. For example, this could include triggering another event that would initiate an action under specified conditions.

Benefits of Integration of AWS IOT and MongoDB

The fplowing are some of the benefits of integrating AWS IoT and MongoDB:

  • Scalability – You can easily scale your infrastructure as your business grows by connecting additional devices. This also simplifies management as a single instance can serve multiple devices. Furthermore, you can easily replicate events across multiple databases without having to add capacity in multiple systems.
  • Flexibility – You can easily choose which system performs different functions such as reading events and sending commands to connected devices while maintaining consistency at all times. For example, if you want to use an Excel spreadsheet instead of a database to read events, you can do so without changing the code on your devices or the code on your cloud-based server. This flexibility also allows you to easily incorporate third-party applications into your system or integrate systems such as Salesforce or Amazon Redshift into your architecture. You can even use your existing infrastructure to build applications for other applications or process data from devices in different ways.
  • Reliability – You can use either public or private networks to send commands from your devices to your cloud-based server or from your cloud-based server to your devices. In case of failures such as lost connections, unexpected disconnections or outages due to maintenance activities, the system will continue receiving or sending commands as long as there is one connection that remains active at all times. You can also build redundancy into the system by using multiple sources for both input and output commands so that command delivery is not affected even if one source fails.

The process to integrate AWS IOT and MongoDB may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
