How AWS IOT & Mention Integrations Work

  1. Step 1: Choose AWS IOT as a trigger app and authenticate it on Appy Pie Connect.

Integration of AWS IOT and Mention

  • As per the report by IDC, AWS is the market leader in cloud computing, which is a type of computing that enables IT operations to be delivered as a service over the Internet.
  • AWS IoT is a service that helps IoT developers connect and manage billions of IoT devices at scale. It includes two components. Amazon FreeRTOS for microcontrpler-based devices and Amazon Web Services (AWS. Greengrass for gateways and servers.
  • Mention is an analytics platform that captures, analyzes, and visualizes customer feedback on social media.

Integration of AWS IOT and Mention

  • To integrate AWS IoT with Mention, you need to fplow the steps below:

  • Register yourself on Mention and sign in with your credentials.
  • On the top right hand corner, there will be a drop down option to create a new account. Select account settings from the drop down menu.
  • After you have selected the Account Settings option, you will be redirected to another page where you can create a new account by clicking ‘Create New Account’ button.
  • A pop-up will appear and ask you whether you want to create a new account or if you want to connect an existing account, select Connect to Existing Account option and click on continue.
  • On this page, you will see a login button with some options; one of the options is ‘AWS IoT’, choose this option and click on continue.
  • You will be redirected to the Amazon IoT conspe where you can select the region you want to register your account. Choose any region and click on continue (for sake of convenience, we will use US East (N. Virginia. region in this demo.
  • Once you have chosen the region, you will encounter an API key box; enter your valid credential and click on continue.
  • Now you are done with the registration process; you need to get the endpoint for your Mention application, which can be obtained from the endpoint section of your Mention account dashboard. Click on the Endpoint section of your dashboard and copy the URL from there.
  • Take a note of your region name and this endpoint URL; we will need these values later in our sample application.
