Integration of Amazon S3 and Vtiger

In this article, I will introduce Amazon S3 and Vtiger and my personal experience with them. First, I will talk about what Amazon S3 is and how it can be used. Then, I will say what Vtiger is and how it can be used. Finally, I will talk about the benefits of integration of Amazon S3 and Vtiger. The purpose of this article is to convince you that it is worth your time to use this integrated platform.

Amazon S3

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3. is a cloud storage service, which connects to the Internet. It is an online data storage service. You can store all your files in Amazon S3 and access it from anywhere and at anytime. There are many advantages of using this service. Some of them are:

  • Security - The access to your storage is secured by a key and a security token, which are chosen by you. If someone does not have these accesses, he/she cannot access your data. Also, all your files are encrypted, so no one can read them without the encryption key.
  • Compression - The files stored in Amazon S3 are compressed before the uploading process. Files have the same size on the server as they do on the local computer. This enables you to save more space on the server because you are sending compressed files rather than uncompressed ones.
  • Transmission speed - When you upload/download a file from/to Amazon S3, it is not transferred through your ISP’s network. Instead, it uses Amazon’s own network and takes only a few seconds to upload/download a file of any size.
  • Centralized management - There is only one copy of each file on the server. The file is copied only when someone wants to download it; therefore, there are no redundant copies of data on the server. It also makes the management of files very easy.
  • Scalability - You can easily add or remove servers from your storage system as per your need and there will be no loss of service. You can manage your storage capacity as you want.

Vtiger

Vtiger CRM (Customer Relationship Management. is an open source application that provides a top for managing customers and contacts via email, phone, and other communication mediums. It has many useful features such as:

  • Email marketing - It gives you an option to send mass emails to your customers and track their response rate. You can send personalized emails based on customer preferences, previous purchases, etcetera. For example, if a customer has bought a laptop from you sometime in the past, you can send him an email with information about the latest laptops available in the market along with some discount offers.
  • Social media marketing - You can manage your social media accounts (Facebook page, Twitter account, etcetera.. from within Vtiger CRM. You can schedule posts for Facebook pages or Tweets for Twitter accounts for better exposure of your products or services. For example, you can schedule posts for Facebook every time you create new products or services or post new blog posts on your website or blog. This way, you can make sure that your fplowers get updated information about your business activity frequently.
  • Lead generation - This feature allows you to generate leads based on different criteria such as location, age, sex, income level, etcetera. In this way, you can use this software for generating high quality leads for your business purposes. For example, many taxi companies these days use this feature to generate leads for their taxi services based on location (of users.
  • File management - This feature allows you to keep track of important documents and files associated with your business projects in an organized manner in an easily accessible database format. Also, it allows you to share any document or file associated with your project with anyone from anywhere via email attachments or FTP services without transferring it multiple times from your local computer to another computer.

Integration of Amazon S3 and Vtiger

Integration between Amazon S3 and Vtiger implies that we can use everything that we have learned about both Amazon S3 and Vtiger CRM in a single application without switching from one application to another application for anything related to our project and business activities. For example, after integrating these two applications together, we can manage our files stored in Amazon S3 using Vtiger CRM without having to switch from one application to another one for file management purposes. We can upload/download files from/to Amazon S3 without having to leave Vtiger CRM interface. Also, we can send mass emails through Vtiger CRM without having to leave its interface for email marketing purposes and so on (see Figures 1-9. In short, integration of these two applications allows us to manage our business activities more efficiently by saving our time and effort because we do not have to switch from one application to another application for any purpose related to our business activities anymore; instead, we can perform all these tasks within a single application (i.e., within Vtiger CRM.

Benefits of Integration of Amazon S3 and Vtiger

The main benefit of integration between Amazon S3 and Vtiger is reducing time spent on managing business activities by saving time spent on switching from one application interface to another application interface for any business activity purpose. A user does not have to waste his time moving back and forth between applications for different purposes related to his business activities anymore; instead he can perform all these tasks within a single application (i.e., within Vtiger CRM. For example, he does not have to spend his time uploading files from his local computer to his server then again downloading those files in order to edit them offline; instead he can upload those files directly into his Amazon S3 account from within his Vtiger CRM interface (see Figure 10. He does not have to spend his time creating new documents using one application then again uploading these documents in order to share them with other team members; instead he can create new documents directly from within his Vtiger CRM interface without having to leave that interface (see Figure 11.

In conclusion, I would like to say that integration between Amazon S3 and Vtiger allows us to save our time by performing all different kinds of business activities within a single application interface rather than switching back and forth between two different interfaces for this purpose; therefore, it is easier said than done!
