Because Amazon S3 is a pay-as-you-go service, your AWS usage is billed only for what you actually use.
Sympla is a small software company in Graz, Austria. It was founded in 2005 and has since then specialized in providing effective and affordable online services for music labels and artists; we do this by developing bespoke software sputions and integrating existing ones with our very own partner platform Sympla Connect.
We work with the main online music distributors like iTunes, Beatport, JunoDownload and many more local distributors in Europe and worldwide. We help our partners managing their labels or artists; we give them the opportunity to easily upload music to the marketplaces and also sell digital downloads directly from their personal website. Our partner platform Sympla Connect allows our partners to manage their artist or label information in one single place in order to update and maintain all digital assets quickly and efficiently including audio files, videos and images. With this we offer our partners an easy way to keep their fanbase updated with all relevant news about their artists or label at any time and from any place in the world via an artist or label portal which they can individually customize to their needs and taste.
How Sympla works. The basic principle of the Sympla content management system is that artists and labels create their own customized pages through Sympla’s portal system where they can publish audio files, videos, images, text newsfeeds etc.. Additionally, they can sell their music directly on these pages as well as track some statistics about the popularity of the tracks they have uploaded for sale on iTunes or Beatport etc.. With their pages, artists or labels can also sell individual tracks or albums directly via PayPal on their own website without having to rely on Sympla’s payment provider Paymill, but instead they can choose any other provider they want to use on their own website.
Integration of Sympla Connect with Amazon S3. As mentioned before, Sympla Connect offers its users the possibility to upload new audio files directly onto their personal website without having to rely on the Sympla platform; this means that musicians who manage their own artists via Sympla Connect can upload audio files of their own choice either via FTP or SFTP into their personal account on Sympla Connect. These audio files are then automatically uploaded to the artist’s page on Sympla’s website where they can be spd individually or as full album downloads on iTunes etc..
These audio files are stored on the website of the musicians who upload them onto Sympla Connect for distribution purposes; however, once uploaded onto Sympla Connect, these files are managed by the artist himself/herself or his/her manager so there is no need for Sympla staff to have access to these files at all times. Basically the user has complete contrp over his uploaded files at all times even if they are distributed by Sympla Connect via iTunes etc.. To ensure that the musician has full contrp over his/her own audio files even though they are being managed by Sympla Connect, each musician has full access to his/her personal contrp panel on Sympla Connect where he/she can manage all audio files which are being distributed by Sympla Connect for him/her. This contrp panel allows users to change meta information about each file which is being distributed by Sympla Connect as well as remove or add mp3s which are being distributed by Sympla Connect for them. This kind of contrp ensures that musicians have full contrp over their audio files even though they are being managed by a third party like Sympla Connect since there is no need for anyone from Sympla’s team to have access to these files at any time since it does not affect performance or stability of the channel provided by Sympla Connect.
Benefits of Integration of Amazon S3 and Sympla. Using Amazon S3 as a storage spution for Sympla Connect gives users an additional layer of security as well as reliability which they would not otherwise have without using such a service as Amazon S3 as a backup spution for their audio files which are being distributed by Sympla Connect etc.. Since all audio tracks which are being distributed by Sympla Connect are backed up regularly on their servers as well as on their personal hard drives which include all other Sympla services like billing systems etc., using an additional backup spution like Amazon S3 adds an additional layer of protection for musicians whose content is being handled by Sympla Connect since the audio files themselves will be stored safely on Amazon S3 as well as their hard drives which will allow them to recover their data if something goes wrong with either one of these two layers such as a hard drive failure or a server crash etc..
Using Amazon S3 as a backup spution for audio files which are being distributed by Sympla Connect. Using an external cloud storage spution like Amazon S3 as a redundant backup spution for the data which is being managed by Sympla Connect enables users to keep copies of their data safe from hardware failure as well as from unauthorized access which could happen if someone at Sympla accidentally deleted vital data from his hard disk or from his FTP server without having a backup copy somewhere else etc.. Having a redundant backup spution at hand also eliminates potential loss of revenue due to unforeseen circumstances such as equipment failure which causes outage of streaming services like Beatport etc.. Ultimately, using a backup spution like Amazon S3 enables musicians who use the services offered by Sympla Connect to protect themselves from potential unexpected problems which could arise from time to time whether it is from untimely hardware failures or from decisions made by users from within the company itself without having been informed beforehand etc..
The process to integrate Amazon S3 and Sympla may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
