Background of Mention. Mention is a monitoring top that provides real-time alerts about mentions of your brand, company or product on the Internet. It includes public profiles, website and social media monitoring, and alerting for negative content.
It is an online reputation management top. It was launched in 2012. It provides a way for users to monitor their online presence in real time.
Background of Amazon S3. Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3. is storage service which provides an interface to the web (via standard HTTP requests. for uploading and downloading data. The stored data can be organized hierarchically into buckets, and can be accessed from anywhere in the world via HTTP or HTTPS.
It is a web service that allows you to store all your files in the cloud. You can access these files from anywhere in the world via HTTP or HTTPS. Now let us learn how Mention integrates with Amazon S3.
Mention has a feature called “Monitoring” through which you can monitor the entire conversation about your brand online. This feature monitors various public profiles including social media profiles, websites and news articles. You can get instant alerts about any mention of your brand or issue on the Internet so that you can manage them before they become a bigger problem.
Now we will integrate this feature with Amazon S3. We will create an IAM user with any rpe, then grant him access to both Amazon S3 and Mention service using API keys from both services. Once we have created the IAM user, we can enable his access to Mention using the IAM ppicy.
We will configure a Mention email server that is responsible for sending out alerts to our email account. We will configure it as the email server for our IAM user account as well as the email provider for Mention Monitor app in Amazon S3. When there is a new alert about our brand on the internet, Mention will send us an email. In response to that email, we will download the file from our Amazon S3 bucket and upload it to our Mention Monitor app using its API.
A large number of people use Amazon S3 for storing their data in the cloud because it is cost-effective and scalable. If you have millions of users who need to access your data, you can easily scale up your storage by adding more servers instead of increasing your storage capacity on each server. Therefore, it is very easy to maintain high availability of your data due to its scalability.
Mention has a great integration with AWS, as it comes built-in with an app that has all AWS IAM rpes already integrated with it, so we do not need to create any custom rpes for it to work properly. It has a rpe that has access keys for S3, DynamoDB, Lambda etc., so when we connect it with our account, it automatically gives us access to all these services.
