You can easily integrate Alegra into the Gmail interface. Alegra will also integrate into your existing Gmail account without requiring you to create a new account. There are times when you may need to be able to send emails from your Gmail account using your existing Gmail account. Here are some tips on how to do that:

Open the Alegra interface. Go to Settings > General > Email. Select "Use my default Gmail for outgoing mail." Save your changes. If this option is not present, then you can set it manually by pointing to the correct server for sending/receiving mail up top. Make sure that you have allowed Pop access to your Gmail account first.

The integration between Alegra and Gmail practically makes the two services work as one. You can filter out unwanted emails to save time, set rules for organizing your emails, request read receipts for important emails, send reminders for emails that have not been responded to yet, schedule emails to be sent at a later time or date, use templates for emails that are commonly used, share emails with others, snooze emails that need action at a later time or date, mark important emails as starred or unread, etc. You can do practically everything that you can do with Gmail with Alegra except for creating new email addresses for your account (like GMail. since it does not come with this feature yet. Also you cannot set up POP3/IMAP accounts through Alegra; it only supports SMTP which requires you to port your account to another provider like Hushmail if you want this feature.
