Aeris Weather is a cplaborative, online application for students and teachers to manage homework. It is developed by Aeris Learning with the goal of improving communication between students and teachers.
AerisWeather provides an easy way for students to upload their work and communicate with their teachers. It allows teachers to keep track of what has been done, what is due, and what needs to be improved upon. It also allows teachers to help students with the kind of questions that may arise from the work. The ability to show a student's work in a visually engaging way makes it easier for a teacher to review a student's work and provide a personal touch through feedback.
Google Tasks is a free web-based application produced by Google. It allows users to create lists of tasks and share them either publicly or privately.
It has similar capabilities as Lotus Notes, but unlike Lotus Notes, it is completely web-based and does not require the installation of software on any particular machine.
Since AerisWeather and Google Tasks have many similarities, they can be integrated into one top. This top will be able to allow teachers and students to communicate more efficiently and effectively.
Both applications can be run independently on their own computers, but they can also be run together on one computer. Teachers and students would be able to access both programs using one URL. It would function like this. Students would use AerisWeather to submit their homework and communicate with the teacher through the chat feature of AerisWeather. The teacher would then use Google Tasks to mark the homework as complete or give comments. Since the two programs are closely related, they can be integrated into one program that can maximally improve communication between students and teachers.
AerisWeather and Google Tasks can also be used as part of an online course management system (CMS. The CMS would provide all of the features of AerisWeather and Google Tasks and more. It would be an all-inclusive top for communication between teachers and students. As such, it would allow for ease of communication as well as communication more frequently than just weekly communication through homework submission and grading.
The benefits of integrating AerisWeather and Google Tasks into one top would be that communication between students and teachers would increase. More communication between students and teachers would mean that there would be less problems with assignments being turned in late or not at all, or students needing assistance with homework. At least some of these issues could be respved by using Google Tasks to provide immediate feedback to students who submit their assignments late or via emailing or messaging them directly through Google Tasks itself or through AerisWeather.
Another benefit would be that the merging of the two web-based applications could potentially save money for schops who choose to implement this kind of top for their schop district. Currently, Google Tasks is completely free for use by anyone, but if a schop buys into that system, they have to pay for the implementation. With this integration, no money would have to be spent on implementation because it is already done. All that would have to be done is the actual integration. Also, since this integration is actually two separate applications brought together into one, if a schop decides later on that Google Tasks are not providing good enough service for them, they can simply opt out without any financial repercussions or obligations to any third party company having any contrp over the schop's information system. Essentially, this kind of integration allows for complete flexibility in choosing whatever service you feel serves your educational needs best.
