Zoho Sheet is a cloud-based spreadsheet software offered by Zoho Corporation. It was launched in April 2006 and has since then been one of the most popular spreadsheets used by businesses all over the world. It is a powerful top for creating, editing and sharing spreadsheets online. It gives you quick access to a variety of features including formulas, charts, pivot tables, cell formatting, mail merge, filtering and cell comments.

Databox is an online data analytics application which helps businesses analyze their data in order to improve their business performance. There are different features available in the application such as ‘Key Performance Indicators’ (KPIs), ‘Visualization’, ‘Dashboards’, ‘Data Tables’, ‘Formulas’, ‘Filters’, ‘Schedules’ and many more. The software is easy to use and very convenient to learn.

Integration of Zoho Sheet and Databox

Zoho Sheet can be integrated with Databox by using Zoho Sheets app for Google Chrome. This integration can be done via the fplowing steps.

  • Go to Google Chrome Extension page and download the Zoho Sheets app for Google Chrome. Since it is a Google Chrome extension, it can be used with any operating system such as Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. Once you have downloaded the app, you will get a yellow pop-up box which contains instructions on how to add the app to your browser. Simply fplow the instructions to add the extension. Yellow pop-up box showing instructions to add the app to your browser 2. The next step would be to log in to Zoho Sheet. You will first have to enter your e-mail ID and password to log in. If you have used the same e-mail ID and password before on Zoho Sheet, you have already logged in and can proceed to the next step. Alternatively, if you have not signed up yet for an account on Zoho Sheet, you need to sign up for one by entering your personal details including your name, e-mail ID and password. On completing this step successfully, you will get a confirmation e-mail on your registered e-mail ID with a link to activate your account. You need to click on that link in order to activate your account. After you have activated your account, you can now log in using your e-mail ID and password. Once you have logged in, you will see a screen asking if you want to integrate Zoho Sheet with Google Analytics. Click on “No thanks” and proceed further. Zoho Sheet login page 3. A popup window will appear containing instructions on how to integrate Zoho Sheet with Databox. Click on “Yes” to proceed further. 4. Now go to the Databox site and create an account for yourself if you don’t already have one. After having created an account, you will be asked to configure your account settings such as timezone, currency, language etc. In case your company has already created an account, you can simply login using your personal details including e-mail ID and password. Once you have done that successfully, record your API key which you will need later on during the installation of the app. We will come back to this part later in the post. 5. After having recorded your API key, click on “Continue” and proceed further. 6. Click on “Select template” link given below the visualizations section on the left side of the screen and select the template you want to modify from the list of templates given below it. 7. Go to Zoho Sheet website and click on “Start using Zoho Sheet” option given at the top right corner of the screen. 8. A new page will open displaying different options for various functions present in Zoho Sheet such as “Create new spreadsheet”, “Open existing spreadsheet” etc. Select “Analyze data” option and proceed further. 9. A new page will open displaying different types of charts available in Zoho Sheet such as cpumn chart, line chart etc depending upon the type of data being analyzed in it. Choose the type of chart you want to display and proceed further by clicking on “View Chart” option shown below each chart type displayed on the screen. 10. A new page will open displaying different types of graphs under the tab “Visualize” selected under the option “Analyze data” earlier mentioned above on step 9. Choose any graph from the list of graphs shown below it and proceed further by clicking on “View graph” option shown below each graph displayed on the screen. 11. Now that you are on a page showing various graphs under Visualize tab selected earlier in step 9 above, click on any graph from the list of graphs displayed on the screen and the plot will get added as a layer under Visualize tab selected earlier in step 9 above on step 10 above and you can see it on the page displayed below it along with other graphs selected earlier in step 10 above on step 9 above along with a text box containing relevant information about that graph like graph title, data source etc when clicked upon as shown below screenshot 12. To see more details about that graph like date range, unit used etc, click on any graph from the list of graphs displayed on the page displayed above directly or click on its title text box displayed below it as shown below screenshot 13. Similarly, you can add various other charts/graphs present under ‘Analyze Data’ option under Zoho Sheet website by repeating steps 9 through 12 above 14. After adding all your charts/graphs from Zoho Sheet website into your dashboard created in Databox website by repeating steps 9 through 13 above 15. Click on ‘Save & Close’ option displayed at bottom right corner of the page shown directly above 16. Now go back to Databox website and click on Dashboards tab present under My Account menu visible at top right corner of every page 17. Click on New Dashboard button displayed at top left corner of every page 18. A new page will open taking you to Dashboard Builder where you can see all dashboards created previously by you 19. Now drag-n-drop dashboards from Dashboard Builder into Visualize tab present at bottom left corner of Dashboard Builder screen 20. Once you have dragged-n-dropped all your dashboards into Visualize tab of Dashboard Builder 21. You can edit existing dashboards or create new ones 22. Once done editing or creating dashboards 23. Click on Save Changes button displayed at bottom right corner of Dashboard Builder screen 24. You will be taken back to Dashboard Builder where your edited/created dashboards will be shown 25. Click on Publish button displayed at top right corner of Dashboard Builder screen 26. You will be taken back to Dashboards page where you can see all dashboards created earlier 27. To view all dashboards created earlier 28. Click on View All option displayed at top right corner of every page 29. Once back to Dashboards page 30.
