Zoho Desk is a free customer support software. For those who do not know what Zoho Desk is, it is like Facebook for customer service. With Zoho Desk, you can manage your support queries and replies easily and create a CRM database.
MonkeyLearn is a machine learning service by Zoho that helps users to extract the sentiment from text. It also has features such as categorizing, clustering, predicting, tagging, and classifying. In this example, I will teach you how to extract the sentiment from a comment on Zoho Desk.
Step 1. Create a Zoho Desk Account
In order to move forward, you have to have a Zoho Desk account. So if you don’t have one yet, you can sign up for a free account here.
Step 2. Create a Monkey Learn project
Next step is to create a Monkey Learn project. You can name this project whatever you want or just leave it as “untitled”. In order to create a new project, you must first authorize Monkey Learn to access your Zoho account. After authorization, you will see your projects on the dashboard. If you don’t see any projects on your dashboard, refer to the images below:
Step 3. Create a new dataset from a comment on Zoho Desk
Now we can create a new dataset from a comment on Zoho Desk.
Go to the “New Dataset” section of your dashboard and then click “Create new dataset” button. Then you will be redirected to the fplowing page where you must choose the project that you want to create the dataset in. After choosing your project, you will go to the next page where you need to select the type of data (text. that you want to analyze.
After selecting the text category for your dataset, you will be redirected to the fplowing page where you can specify the text that you want to analyze. It will give you an option to either upload the text file or paste the data in the box next to the box (see image below. Paste your text in this box and then click “Next” button.
After specifying your text, you will be redirected to the next page where you can specify the training label. As mentioned above, in this example we are going to extract sentiment from our text so we need to label our data accordingly. Label your data in the dropdown menu under “Train Label” label (see image below. After that click “Next” button.
After specifying your training label, you will be redirected to the next page where you can choose whether or not you want to save your model in your account or export it in .zip format. If you want to evaluate how well your model works after completing all steps, I recommend saving it into your account because then you won’t have to do all steps again if something goes wrong. However, if you are planning to use this model somewhere else, I recommend exporting it in .zip format because it is faster than saving it into your account (and it takes less storage space. After selecting whether or not you are going to save or export it in .zip format, click “Next” button.
After all previous steps are done, you will be redirected to your dataset list where you can manage your datasets (see image below.
Step 4. Create a new Zapier flow with Monkey Learn triggers and Zoho Desk actions
Now that we have created our dataset, let’s create a flow between Monkey Learn and Zoho Desk. To do that, go back to your dashboard and then click “Zapier Flow” tab at the top left part of your screen (see image below. After clicking “Zapier Flow” tab, click “Create new Zap” button on the top right part of your screen (see image below.
After clicking “Create new Zap” button, you will be redirected to the fplowing page where you can specify information about your “Zap” (see image below. Click “Continue” button after filling in necessary information about your Zap.
After specifying information about your Zap, you will be redirected to the fplowing page where you can select triggers for your Zap (see image below. Click “Continue” button after selecting triggers for your Zap.
After selecting triggers for your Zap, you will be redirected to the fplowing page where you can select actions for your Zap (see image below. Click “Continue” button after selecting actions for your Zap.
After all previous steps are done, you will be redirected to your flow overview where you can manage actions and triggers for this flow (see image below. Click “Continue” button after finishing all previous steps in this process.
After all previous steps are done, click “Finish” button at the bottom of this page (see image below. Then wait for some time until everything is done and all notifications disappear from the screen (see image below.
Step 5. Test out how things work together!
Now that everything is done, we can test out how everything works together! Go back to your dashboard and then open a comment on Zoho Desk that contains a certain word/phrase/sentence that we selected in our dataset before (in this case it is “Zoho Desk is great!”. Underneath this comment there should be a sentence which says something like. “Sentiment Analysis Done” (see image below. If this sentence is not there, please check that everything is connected properly and wait for some time before trying again.
If everything worked properly, this sentence should appear underneath our comment on Zoho Desk after it was posted! Congratulations! You have successfully connected Monkey Learn with Zoho Desk! You can try posting more comments on Zoho Desk with different words/phrases/sentences and see how well it works for each comment!
