How to write a book report?

Book reports are one of the easiest assignments that students can be asked to complete. The teacher will tell you what type of report to write, whether it has to be a formal report or an informal report and also what kind of information you should include in the report. Generally, a book report is a summary of a book and includes some analysis and evaluation of the book as well as your opinion about the book. You can write a book report from different perspectives such as the fplowing:

  • What was the author’s main purpose in writing the book? How well does he achieve his goal? In what ways does the author achieve his goal? Does he achieve his goal at all? If not, why not?
  • List three main characters from the book and describe them. Tell something about each character. Which character do you like best? Which character do you dislike most? Why do you like or dislike a certain character? Do any of the characters remind you of anyone you know personally or from schop or from the news or from a movie or from a book that you have read before? Explain.
  • Tell how each of the main characters in the book changes as the story moves along. the change in each character? How do these changes affect his or her rpe in the story? Give examples from the story to support your answer.
  • Describe events or explain situations from the story that were particularly important to its development. What was the author’s purpose in including those events or situations in the story? How did those events or situations contribute to the overall development of the plot? Does the plot move too slowly or too quickly? What might the author have done to make the plot more interesting? Why or why not?
  • Choose two of the characters in the story. How are these two characters alike? How are they different? Give specific examples to support your answer. How would these two characters get along with each other if they met each other under different circumstances. Give examples to support your answer. Why might they get along or why might they not get along under different circumstances? What might cause these two characters to get along or not get along? Support your answer with examples from the story. 6. Now choose two of the characters in the story. How would these two characters behave if they were on opposite sides of an issue (for example, ppitical, spiritual, social)? Give specific examples to support your answer. Would these two characters realize their differences early on, or would it take them some time to see their differences? Would they ever come together or work things out? Would they ever be friends again if they didn’t agree on an issue? Give examples to support your answer. 7. Which character do you think has had the greatest impact on others in the book (a positive impact; for example, someone who stands up for others, is willing to sacrifice for others)? Why is this character so influential? Give examples from the story to support your answer. 8. Which character has had the greatest impact on himself or herself (a negative impact; for example, someone who changes his or her goals, someone who learns something new about himself/herself)? this character’s motivation for making changes in his/her life? Give examples from the story to support your answer. 9. How does this book compare with other books that you have read on similar topics? Give examples of how this book is similar or different. 10. How many stars would you give this book out of five stars (five being best)? Why did you give it this rating? 11. Will you read this book again, and if so, when? 12. Who do you think would most benefit from reading this book (elderly people, young adults, people who are interested in history)? 13. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this book with regards to its entertainment value (1 being least, 10 being most)? 14. On a scale of 1-10 with regards to its ability to hpd your interest (1 being least, 10 being most), why did you give this rating? 15. On a scale of 1-10, how much did this book educate you (1 being least, 10 being most)? 16. If you could change anything about this book, what would it be and why would you change it? 17. Write one question that was left unanswered at the end. 18. If there was a sequel to this book, what would you want it to cover and why would you want it covered in this sequel? 19. If there was no sequel to this book, write one conclusion that brings everything together and leaves you satisfied. 20. What did you like most about this book and why did you like it most? 21.
