Google Contacts is a web-based contact management service. It is available to users of Google’s Gmail service and is also accessible via mobile devices with the Google Contacts app. The service allows users to create a single “master list” of contacts that are shared across multiple devices, such as Gmail, Android, and iOS devices.
Integration between Vend and Google Contacts will allow Vend to sync with Google Contacts, making it possible for customers to update their addresses in Vend and have them automatically updated in Google Contacts. Similarly, if a customer searches for a vendor who has been previously used in Vend, they can click on the vendor’s name and be taken directly to the vendor’s profile. Vend will also be able to display a customer’s Google Contact information in the customer’s profile page, which could be useful for vendors as well. Vend users will have more contrp over how their contact data is stored. They will no longer have to choose between using either Vend or Google Contacts to store their contacts. Vend users will be able to choose which contacts they want to save to their Vend account and which ones they want to save in their Google Contacts. Finally, because Vend is connected to Google Contacts, it will make it easier for Vend users to access their contacts when they are offline or away from an Internet connection. Any changes that are made to contact information while a user is offline can be synchronized online later.

For example, if a customer calls a vendor by phone and notes the information about the vendor on his/her phone, he/she can then log into Gmail, select the vendor from his/her list of contacts, and search for the vendor using the phone number that was noted on the phone. If a vendor receives an email from a customer with contact information, he/she can log into Outlook or Gmail and copy the information into his/her Vendor Profile in Vend. Vend will then display it on the customer’s profile page. In addition, because integration of Vend and Google Contacts allows Vend users to choose which contacts they want to save to their Vend account and which ones they want to save in their Google Contacts, it gives them more contrp over how their contact data is stored. Vend users will no longer have to choose between using either Vend or Google Contacts to store their contacts; instead, they will be able to choose which contacts they want to save where. Finally, because Vend is connected to Google Contacts, all changes that are made to contact information while a user is offline can be synchronized online later. For example, if a user adds new contacts while he/she is offline, those contacts can be saved online when he/she goes back online. This feature will help simplify how Vend saves vendors’ contact information.
