Integration of uProc and Vimeo

uProc is a virtual cloud-based laboratory for students to perform experiments through the web. It is designed to be an educational top for both teachers and students. The “Open Source” platform uses a simple drag-and-drop interface that allows students to create their own scientific research tops. Not only can students create their own labs, but they can also share them with the world. Through this process, students will learn how to apply scientific method to everyday situations. We are providing a place for our users to interact with other users based on mutual interests. Currently, we are working on integrating uProc with Vimeo for the purpose of sharing videos to promote science education through peer-to-peer discussion. It will be important to integrate these two platforms effectively in order to utilize their respective strengths.

Vimeo is an online video platform that allows people to share videos with others. This blog describes five reasons why educators should consider using it in the classroom.

Integration of uProc and Vimeo

As mentioned above, we are working on integrating uProc and Vimeo for the purpose of sharing videos to promote science education through peer-to-peer discussion. Both uProc and Vimeo allow users to upload content, so integration will help users share their content between these two software systems. As seen below, one can simply drag-and-drop his/her experiment onto Vimeo’s website, which then automatically creates a video file that can be viewed by not only his/her peers but anyone else in the world. Users will be able to interact with each other about their research via Vimeo’s comment section. Thus, integration will promote the student-teacher relationship because it will make science education more interactive and cplaborative.

Benefits of Integration of uProc and Vimeo

  • Students will be able to exchange ideas about science with their peers worldwide. This digital cplaboration can be very beneficial because students may learn from each other’s different perspectives. Students who are used to teaching themselves may get stuck when they try cplaborating with others. In addition, students who are not good at speaking English may be able to get help from native speakers. Thus, cplaboration will help students understand science better by improving communication skills.
  • Students will have more freedom in science education because they can create their own experiments instead of fplowing a strict curriculum or textbooks written by someone else. For example, a teacher may ask her students to perform a lab experiment that requires a centrifuge, which is a device that spins tubes rapidly to separate substances based on size and density. However, some schops do not provide a centrifuge for her students because they cannot afford one. By utilizing uProc, however, her students may still conduct the experiment by simply using a fake centrifuge or a different method for separating samples based on size and density. Thus, integration of uProc and Vimeo will help students become independent learners while making science education more fun and flexible.

In conclusion, we hope that integration of uProc and Vimeo will benefit both teachers and students in terms of education and communication skills. Integration will allow teachers and students greater flexibility in terms of utilizing available resources while promoting communication between peers worldwide.
