In this paper, we will describe the way we use Trello and Amazon SQS to handle our projects. Our project management application is a vital part of our team's workflow. It allows us to track time spent on tasks, make comments on tasks, cplaborate with our team members, and even provide transparency to clients if they would like to see how their project is progressing.
Trello is a free web-based project management application that allows users to create boards, lists and cards which can be used for project management, cplaboration, planning and general organization. Trello has been around since 2011 and was developed by Fog Creek Software. It is currently used by over 11 million people across the globe. Trello supports most major web browsers, but it also has native applications available for Android and iOS devices.
Amazon SQS provides a scalable message queuing service that allows distributed software applications to communicate with each other using messages called messages. Amazon SQS has multiple interfaces including the web service API (Amazon SQS), the AWS SDKs, the command line interface (CLI), and the AWS Management Conspe. Amazon SQS also provides some advanced features such as dead-letter queues, message persistence and message TTLs.
We are able to seamlessly integrate both Trello and Amazon SQS into our project management flow. Using Trello, we are able to create robust boards for our projects. We are able to use these boards to organize tasks according to deadlines, milestone status, client deliverables, project teams and more. Using the Amazon SQS API we are able to create queues that allow us to send messages to our team members in order to notify them when certain tasks are done or need further attention. Our integration of Amazon SQS and Trello allows us to streamline our project management process and move towards a more efficient workflow.
