Tookan is an open-source plugin for the WordPress platform that allows you to create and manage email subscriptions from within your website. With Tookan you can create a newsletter service, a product catalogue, or any other type of email-based content. Tookan works with a variety of email marketing services and requires no coding knowledge to install.
MailChimp Ecommerce is a plug-in that makes it easy to integrate MailChimp’s email marketing software with your online store. It allows you to add sign up forms to your site or blog, save customers’ information in the form of a campaign list, and send newsletters and email campaigns.
MailChimp Ecommerce has several options for integrating with a WordPress site. A basic connection is made through MailChimp’s API key, but this is not an ideal spution due to the potential security risk posed by using an API key on a public website. The more secure method is the use of a secret key, which only gives access to WordPress administrators with permission to view the email marketing features.
Another method for integration is integration through Tookan, which requires the installation of both plugins. The necessary code for MailChimp Ecommerce integration is contained in Tookan’s config.php file, as well as in the wp-content/plugins/tookan directory. Once configured, you will be redirected from your WordPress site to the MailChimp Ecommerce login page when you click “Sign Up” on your WordPress site.
The most obvious benefit to integration of Tookan with MailChimp Ecommerce is that you can implement both plugins without having to install them separately, thereby saving time and effort.
