Integration of Textline and Knack

Textline is a messaging application that allows Internet users to send and receive messages over the Internet. It is based on the web and therefore can be accessed from any web browser such as Safari, Opera, Firefox and Chrome etc. This application is not like WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, as it does not require user’s phone number to register. The fact that Textline does not require phone numbers makes it easier for anyone to register and use the service. (Skype, 2015)

According to Skyp, Textline “is free to use and offers:”

-Group chat with up to 20 people;

-Voice messaging;

-Free calls;

-Free texts;

-A web based application that anyone can use from any device such as a mobile phone or computer; and

-Unlimited storage for text messages. (Skype, 2015)

On the other hand, Knack is an online platform that allows users to create their own mobile apps. Knack has earned $10 million in funding and was acquired by Telefonica Digital in 2013. Knack made its first appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt London where it captured the audience’s attention. It also won the DuoLingo Prize which included $50,000 cash award and $70,000 in financing. (TechCrunch, 2015)

In this section of the article, I will look into how Textline and Knack can integrate with each other to serve one common goal of communication using today’s modern technpogy. If these two companies combined together they could create a new kind of communication where users from different countries can converse with each other. Since Textline requires a web browser to use the service it would be easy for Knack to integrate with Textline as it is a web based application. However, this integration does not mean that the service will be available only on the web but also on mobile devices as well as computers. In addition, Knack could integrate Textline with its mobile app so that users will be able to access Textline from Knack. In addition to integration between Textline and Knack, both companies have been working on improving existing features offered by them before they integrate into one single service. For example, Knack is currently working on a feature called “Knuckleduster” which is a top that will help developers learn Knack development quickly and cheaply. It is a cloud based IDE which means that developers do not have to install anything on their machines or use third party software to develop applications for Knack. (Knack, 2015. Also, Textline is currently working on releasing version 2 of their application which would include voice messaging feature. (Skype, 2015. Integration of Textline and Knack will allow users to access both services through one single application. This will eliminate the need to install multiple applications separately on different devices because all these services will become available through one single application. This will make communication much easier for end users as they will not have to keep switching between applications to access these services. (Skype, 2015. Integration of these two companies will also benefit end users because they will be able to create accounts with either one of these services without needing to register with their phones or email accounts. Therefore it would be easier for users who want to communicate with each other over the Internet but do not want their information associated with their phones to register using either of these services. (Skype, 2015. Integration of both these companies would also allow for communication between different people around the world who are not aware of each other’s languages, this will save time for both parties because communication through either one of these services does not require knowledge of language. The company can also work on integrating other communication tops, such as video conferencing, into the single service where users will be able to communicate with each other using different communication mediums instead of just text messaging feature offered by either one of these services. Integration of these two companies would also save money for both users as they would save money using only one single service instead of installing multiple applications on their devices or using two services separately. Investors will also benefit from integration of these two companies because they will earn profit by conducting business through both services simultaneously. For example, if a customer buys a subscription to Textline then investors will earn profit because they will also earn profit from selling subscriptions to Knack at the same time. The fact that both services are competing for market share would bring better features faster than either one of these companies could have done individually thus saving users unnecessary waiting time for new features to arrive at their doorsteps. Integration of these two companies would also benefit companies that are using either one of these services because they would be able to integrate these two services with existing applications that they have built through out the years. The reason why both companies are working towards integration is because it would allow them to eliminate competition between each other where users will be forced to buy or subscribe to either one of these services or use both services individually without being able to benefit from both services unless they decide to pay for both services separately. This kind of competition does not benefit end users who are using these services because they are forced to pay more money for less features supported by both services individually rather than having access to more features supported by both services cplectively. According to Skyp “Textline is free to use and offers:” -Group chat with up to 20 people; -Voice messaging; -Free calls; -Free texts; -A web based application that anyone can use from any device such as a mobile phone or computer; -Unlimited storage for text messages. (Skype, 2015. On the other hand according to Knack “Knack is an online platform that allows users to create their own mobile apps.” (Knack, 2015. As mentioned earlier integration of Textline and Knack would save money for end users who are using either one of these services so that they can save money paying for subscriptions or buying separate apps for each service especially when Textline is free while Knack costs money every month. Integration of Textline and Knack will also benefit investors who are currently making money through selling subscriptions or selling separate apps for each service separately because they will earn profit by selling subscriptions or selling separate apps for both services together instead of selling subscriptions or selling separate apps for each service individually without taking advantage of potential customers who would like to use both services simultaneously. Integration of Textline and Knack would also benefit companies who are already using either one of these services because they would be able to integrate these two services with existing applications that they have built through out the years instead of buying separate apps or subscribing separately to either one of these services for each of their applications. The reason why both companies are working towards integration is because it would allow them to eliminate competition between each other where users will be forced to buy or subscribe to either one of these services or use both services individually without being able to benefit from both services unless they decide to pay for both services separately.
