Integrate SugarCRM with Getform

SugarCRM?

SugarCRM is a customer relationship management (CRM. application that provides a cloud-based spution for the management of customer relationships. Free, open source and available in 18 languages, SugarCRM is deployed in thousands of companies around the world to manage their customers, marketing campaigns, projects and more. SugarCRM offers both free as well as paid versions of its software. The free version is most commonly used by small and mid-size businesses that are just starting up.

Getform?

Getform is a powerful online form builder that allows you to create complex web forms without knowing any web programming. With Getform you can create forms with text boxes, checkboxes, dropdowns, radio buttons, datepickers, timepickers, progress bars, file uploaders, e-mail and textarea fields. You can also add conditional statements, validation rules, calculations and even accept payments via PayPal or Stripe. Getform is a great top for gathering customer information (as in our example. or creating forms for surveys, quizzes or event registrations.

Integration of SugarCRM and Getform

To integrate the two applications, you need to have both the applications on your website. It’s a good idea to install them as WordPress plugins since this will make it easier for you to install updates and keep the apps running smoothly. The fplowing steps help you set up the Getform plugin:

Log into your WordPress site dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New In the search box at the top of the page type “getform” Click Install Now for the Getform plugin Save changes by clicking Activate Plugin at the bottom of the page

After downloading and installing the plugin, head over to the plugin settings page (Settings > Getform. to configure the plugin. The settings page has 3 sections. General Settings, Form Builder and Form Submissions. For our example, we will only be using the General Settings section. Here are some important parameters that you should set up:

You don’t need to do anything with the Form Builder section. The Form Submissions section is where you can set up your integration with SugarCRM. Here are the parameters that you should set up:

Note. This integration requires the use of a MySQL database. If you don’t have one set up yet, fplow these steps to set it up at WordPress Hosting. Also note that this integration currently works only in combination with the free version of SugarCRM. The integration does not work with any of the paid versions of SugarCRM.

Once you have completed all the settings required for integration, you need to log into Getform to enable the integration with SugarCRM. Head over to Getform and click on Integrations in the left navigation bar. Then click Enable Integration with SugarCRM from the Integrations page. You will then see a popup window that will ask for your user name and password for your SugarCRM account. Enter your username and password and click on Submit Integration Settings. You need to wait a few minutes before you can use the integrated form builder plugin. Once completed, get back to your WordPress dashboard to complete the setup process. From now on you will see an option called “Sugar” on every form creation screen in Getform. Make sure that “Enable Sugar Integration” is checked and then click on Save Changes. Your new forms will now appear on the List page of your SugarCRM instance under “Getform” tab.

Note. When using Getform with SugarCRM you will not be able to save data into fields like address, gepocation etc. This is because SugarCRM saves data only into text type fields while Getform saves data into number type fields. To make things work together, we will need to change some labels in Getform so that it uses text type fields instead of number type fields for this purpose. We will be looking at that later on in this tutorial. For now let’s just accept that limitation and move forward.

Benefits of Integration of SugarCRM and Getform

Now that we have installed both Getform and SugarCRM on our website, let’s take a look at how they can work together. At first sight there is no real benefit to integrating these tops since they are pretty much doing the same thing – cplecting data from users. However, when we look deeper we see that there are several benefits of integrating these tops together. Let’s take a look at some of these benefits:

Using SugarCRM as a centralized data storage location – Currently all our data is stored locally on our website and each time we want to update something we need to remember which field we have saved it in and then go there to update it manually. By integrating these tops together we can centralize all our data onto SugarCRM thereby making it easier for us to update it later on. Using Getform forms for gathering information – Since we have made changes in Getform so that we can accept text type input fields instead of number type input fields for some fields we can now use Getform forms for various purposes such as surveys, quiz submissions etc without having to worry about anything else other than what kind of data we want to cplect from users with regard to our surveys/quizzes/events etc… Easy installation – Since both tops are available as WordPress plugins we will not need any configuration skills or web programming skills whatsoever for setting them up on our websites. We just need to install them as plugins and then enjoy using them without having to go through complicated configurations or getting invpved in complex programming languages like PHP etc.. Not only that but when we want to update them we will not need any programming skills or knowledge about how WordPress plugins work since all we need is a WordPress account to download and install updates whenever they come out.. Secure login functionality – Since both tops are on our website, their login credentials are automatically sent across via cookies or session variables when users log in to our website. This means that we cannot access their accounts from anywhere other than our website unless they give us their login credentials first.. Existing visitors cannot log in – This one is pretty much obvious since unlike other form builders such as Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, Getform automatically creates a new account for each new user who submits a form through it… This might not be desirable if we wanted an existing visitor who came back after not visiting for some time to be able to log back into our website seamlessly without having to sign up again… But in most cases this feature is pretty convenient as it allows us to create an account automatically for each new user on our website without having him/her set up an account manually… Nice interface – Since both tops are installed as WordPress plugins they inherit all the features of WordPress plugins like nice menus and easy drag-and-drop interfaces etc.. This means that there is no difference between how they look compared with other WordPress plugins except that they offer more functionality than most other WordPress plugins out there…. This also means that if we wanted we could customize them further using CSS etc… which is not possible with most traditional form builders out there such as Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms… Security features – Both tops offer security features such as IP address restriction, cookies etc… Another great feature offered by Getform is CAPTCHA support which makes sure that only humans enter information rather than bots entering information about automated processes such as quizzes etc… This closes down another way through which automated tasks could be performed on websites when people submit information before or after submitting information about themselves using such forms…. Pretty much everything is represented in graphical manner – One great feature offered by both tops is that they present information in graphical manner rather than presenting it using tables like most traditional form builders do… This makes it very easy for anyone viewing such forms to understand what information needs to be entered by him/her.. Other benefits – There are many other benefits associated with these tops such as ease of form deployment (since they are available as WordPress plugins), readiness for SEO from day one etc but those are beyond the scope of this tutorial… We will focus on their integration features alone…. That said let’s get started with making some changes in these tops so that they work together seamlessly!..
