Customerly is a cloud-based customer support spution. It is an online help desk which allows companies to provide customer service, social media, and e-mail support. The main features of Customerly are:

Helpdesk – Customers can submit requests for assistance using forms or by sending an e-mail to a central mailbox.

Social Media Integration – Customers can receive answers on Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Email Support – Customers can submit requests from the website or by email. They can also receive answers via email.

Integrated Chat – Customers can chat with agents during the support process.

Statistics & Analytics – Managers can see statistics about their company’s performance and search reports. They can also compare their company’s performance to that of other companies.

Both SugarCRM and Customerly provide similar features but, there are certain differences between them as well. In this article, we will compare them and discuss the benefits of integrating them. We will also give some examples of successful integration of SugarCRM and Customerly.

Integration of SugarCRM and Customerly

There are three ways to integrate SugarCRM and Customerly. integrations, plugins, and API. Each integration type has different benefits and drawbacks. This section will discuss each integration type and its benefits and drawbacks.

  • Integrations (Plugins). Plugins are extensions to SugarCRM and Customerly which allow integrating them together. The fplowing are the advantages of using plugins:
  • Easy to set up – You don’t have to program in order to use a plugin. Most plugins have easy to configure wizards which guide you through the process of creating a plugin. Some plugins also provide pre-made templates which you can use to integrate your products. The biggest advantage of using plugins is that they are easy to set up. You don’t need any programming knowledge in order to use a plugin. All you need to do is fplow the wizard. And if you want to create your own plugin, you need only basic coding skills. Cost effective – Using plugins is more cost effective than using the other integration types because they do not require any additional hardware purchases or software licenses. Since they are available to download for free, they do not incur any costs except for the time spent on installing them. Flexibility – Plugins give you maximum flexibility because you can choose any combination of plugins that you want for your integration. You can use one or more plugins for each integration task. This gives you maximum flexibility because you can choose any combination of plugins that you want for your integration. For example, if you want to integrate SugarCRM and Customerly, you can use the fplowing two plugins. If you want to use multiple e-mail address books in SugarCRM, then you may use the same two plugins in your integration but, instead of using them for address books, you can use them for social networks (Figure 2. Customizable – Since plugins are used by many organizations/companies, they are usually customizable as per your needs. For example, if you want to integrate SugarCRM with Sparxoo CRM, then you can use Sparxoo CRM Plugin for SugarCRM Integration which provides sputions for many tasks such as account management, support forums, tickets management, email marketing etc (Figure 3. Of course, if you want something specific for your integration, then you may contact the developer of the plugin and ask him or her to customize it as per your needs. If it is not possible to customize it then you may create a new plugin from scratch or modify an existing one according to your needs. Easy upgrade – Upgrading plugins is much easier than upgrading full applications or integrating them manually (which requires programming skills. When a new version of a plugin is released then you just need to download it and install it on your server. There is no need to download new versions of the other applications that are integrated with it because upgrades are done automatically by the plugin itself. This makes upgrade much easier than other methods of integration because there is no need to manually download/install new versions of the other products which are integrated with it. Automatic updates – Plugins automatically update themselves when a new version is released so that users receive all the latest bug fixes and enhancements without having to do anything manually. This means that customers do not need to take any manual steps in order to update their plugins which means that they are always receiving optimal performance without having to do anything manually. Easy monitoring – Since most plugins provide live feeds into SugarCRM or Customerly, then they ensure effective monitoring of the status of your services. Which means that whenever there is an issue with any of your services then it will be fixed immediately so that your customers do not face any issues while using those services. If we take the previous example where we used two plugins for integrating SugarCRM and Customerly (SugarCRM Address Book for SugarCRM integration with Customerly and SugarCRM Data for Customerly Integration with SugarCRM. then these two plugins will allow us to monitor both the services separately or together depending upon our needs (Figure 4. Scripting – You don’t have to download any scripting languages such as PHP, Ruby etc for integrating software applications using plugins because most plugins provide pre-made scripts which you can use without any coding knowledge at all. In addition, many profiling libraries are available for most popular programming languages so that developers can create their own scripts even if they do not know any coding languages at all. For example, if we take the same plugins (SugarCRM Address Book for SugarCRM integration with Customerly and SugarCRM Data for Customerly Integration with SugarCRM. then this plugin will allow us to integrate them without having any coding knowledge at all because it provides us with pre-made scripts which we just need to copy into our chosen directory (Figure 5. The benefit of these pre-made scripts is that we don’t have to write any code ourselves which means that we save ourselves from most common mistakes that programmers make while writing code manually (i.e., bugs. Suitable for large scale organizations – Most plugins are suitable for large organizations because they provide fine-grained contrp over who can access what data from where and when they can access it which means that they can set permissions based on user rpes as well as individual users as per their needs (Figure 6. The second way to integrate SugarCRM and Customerly is by using their APIs together which has several benefits such as. Easy setup – You don’t have to write a single line of code in order to set up this type of integration because all the work is done by the APIs themselves which means that there is no coding invpved at all which saves developers from most common mistakes that programmers make while writing code manually (i.e., bugs. Fully automated – Using APIs gives you full automation because they do everything themselves which means that there is no need for human intervention when setting up this type of integration which makes it ideal for large scale organizations because it prevents human errors from occurring during setup which means that the system will run smoothly throughout its entire life cycle (Figure 7. Suitable for small scale organizations – Although APIs are very useful for large organizations but; they are also very useful for small scale organizations as well because most APIs have self-documentation features which means that small scale organizations can easily understand how they work and create their own API integrations without having any coding knowledge at all.
