Integrate Slack with Tableau

Before the start of this article, I will tell you what Slack and Tableau are.

According to e-learning-leaders.com, “Slack is a workplace messaging top that enables people to keep in touch and cplaborate more efficiently than any other channel”.

Tableau according to Tableau Software, Inc. is, “an analytics platform that helps anyone easily visualize and understand data”.

I would like to discuss the integration of Slack and Tableau in the next section of this article.

Integration of Slack and Tableau

A top that is commonly used by marketers, salespeople, and managers today is called Slack. This is because marketers, salespeople, and managers are always on the go meaning they are always using their mobile phones. Slack is an app that can be downloaded on your mobile device or computer. It is a program that allows you to communicate with your co-workers and team members from anywhere at any time. There are many features of Slack that allow you to stay connected with your team members all day long. Some of these features include private and public channels, direct messages, searchable chat history, unlimited storage for files, notifications that can be set for specific events, apps from third parties that integrate with slack, etc. One feature of Slack that is very useful is the notification when there are new messages in your private or public channels. Not only does it notify you via email but also on your mobile phone. Another feature of Slack that I find very useful is the private channel feature. Since Slack allows you to create a private channel that you can send messages to anyone you choose. It also allows you to send direct messages to one or more team members privately. With this feature I am able to have conversations with my team members in real time. Another feature is the searchable chat history which is very helpful since you can see who said what in the conversation if you need to see it again. With this feature I am able to have conversations with my team members in real time with no interruptions as well as being able to see what was said when I need to go back and read up on a conversation again which helps me stay organized. Another feature that I find very useful is the unlimited storage for files that I can upload to Slack whenever I need them. This feature allows me to store important files such as PDFs, images, etc., in my Slack account so that I can access them whenever I need them quickly without having to look around for the files on my computer or anywhere else. Another feature of Slack that is very useful is the ability to integrate with third party applications which is another reason why I find Slack so useful. With this feature I am able to connect different apps such as my calendar app, Google Drive app, Microsoft Excel app, etc., which makes my experience using Slack so much better since it makes it a lot easier for me to communicate with my team members and organize my tasks and appointments in my calendar in real time without having to switch between apps. Another feature that I find very useful is the ability to create a schedule for certain times during the day where I know I will not be available for a while like during meetings or other engagements that take up most of my day so that if someone needs something they know when not to disturb me or when it would be best to contact me. This feature helps me be more efficient with my time and keep track of everything I need to do during the day which makes me more organized and productive when working with my team members which makes us all work better together as a team. Another feature of Slack that I find very useful is the ability to keep track of my tasks and appointments within my calendar app/calendar program on my computer or mobile device from within Slack so that I don’t have to look through two separate apps just to find out what I have going on each day or week which makes it easier for me to stay organized and be productive. Another feature of Slack that makes it so useful is the ability for me to use gifs which make it fun when communicating with team members which tends to make our conversations more lively and entertaining which helps ease tension if there are any issues we are dealing with at the time since we are able to communicate better thanks to the gifs in our conversations. Another feature is the notifications that I can set up for specific events which makes me automatically notified if someone sends a message in a particular channel or if someone mentions me in a particular channel so that way I can quickly respond accordingly instead of having to constantly check every few minutes hoping there was something new added into a channel if it has been awhile since visiting a channel. This feature has helped me get back on top of things if something urgent comes up during a meeting or appointment so that way I am able to quickly respond back without having to worry about anything else going on at the time until after I have dealt with whatever urgent matter came up at that time.

Along with using Slack I also like using Tableau software so let me talk about how integration works between Slack and Tableau software in this part of my article.
