It was first launched in 2010, and it is used to enhance communication and cplaboration while improving productivity. It offers instant messaging, voice calls, video calls, web meetings, screen sharing, file transfer, and integration with Office applications.
macOS Calendar is a personal organizer program that provides the user with a calendar to keep track of his or her schedule. It can be synchronized with other devices running iOS and watchOS. The calendar can be displayed in multiple views including month, week, day, and tasks.
macOS Calendar supports the ability to integrate with other calendars through either the Exchange or CalDAV protocp. With this capability, users can access their calendars from other devices. Since macOS Calendar supports the use of Skype for Business, it can be integrated with the calendar via the CalDAV protocp. In order to do so, users need to perform the fplowing steps:
Step 1. Open System Preferences, then select iCloud under System Preferences. Select the CalDAV tab.
Step 2. Click Add (+. to add a new account. Then enter https://caldav.domain.name/caldav/[email protected]/calendar/ as the Server Address, then select the [email protected] as the User Name and add an account name (for example, calendarMe. Click Next. Then enter your domain user account password to complete the setup process.
Step 3. Check the box next to Show All Calendars to display all calendars on the calendar list. Then check the box next to Show Only Subscribed Calendars to only display subscribed calendars on the calendar list. Click Done to complete the setup process.
Step 4. Launch the macOS Calendar app. Go to File -> New Calendar Subscription… to subscribe to calendars from another device that supports CalDAV protocp. Enter https://caldav.domain.name/caldav/[email protected]/calendar/ in the Server Address field. Enter [email protected] as the username and the password you used in Step 2 above in the Username and Password fields respectively (if you have forgotten your password please contact Apple Support. Click Subscribe to complete the setup process.
Step 5. Open the macOS Calendar app again. Go to File -> Preferences -> Accounts -> select your account and click Advanced Options…
Step 6. Check Enable this account and click OK to save your changes.
macOS Calendar also supports synchronization with other calendars through either Exchange or CalDAV protocp. With this capability, users can access their calendars from other devices like Macs and iPhones via their Microsoft Exchange account or Google Calendar account via CalDAV protocp. Since Skype for Business supports both protocps, it can be integrated with macOS Calendar via either Exchange or CalDAV protocp. Here's how:
Step 1. Open System Preferences -> iCloud -> Accounts -> select your Microsoft Exchange account -> Exchange -> Add Account... -> Microsoft Exchange -> Choose the appropriate account type (either standard or IMAP. -> Next -> Sign-in Information -> enter your email address and password -> enter your domain name (for example, domainName. -> Next -> Office 365 -> Next -> Outlook Web App (OWA. -> Next -> Automatic Account Setup (Recommended. -> Next -> Enable This Account; then click Done to complete the setup process.
Step 2. Open System Preferences -> iCloud -> Accounts -> select your Exchange account again -> Exchange > Advanced Options... > Check Enable CalDAV support > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again > Go to File > Preferences > Accounts > select your account and click Advanced Options... > Check Enable this account > Save changes; then open your macOS Calendar app again
