    In October 2009, Sina Corporation launched a major upgrade for Sina Weibo that invpved the introduction of new features such as inline linking, hashtags and mentions. In June 2010, Sina Weibo began removing high-frequency users from the logging system, reducing the maximum number per day from 200,000 to 100,000. However, in September, the figure was increased to 200,000 again. More changes took place in February 2011 when Sina opened an international version of Weibo to overseas users and introduced a new function called “Tou Jiao Ci” (Touch News. By the end of February 2014, Sina Weibo had over 500 million registered users, and received 100 million new posts per day. The company also claimed that it had 128 million daily active users.
