ShipStation is a cloud-based shipping software that is used by many e-commerce businesses to manage their shipping. The shirt gets sent to New York, but at some point, ShipStation sends an email to the customer saying that the item has shipped, but not providing any tracking information or details about when they can expect their shirt to arrive. When the customer receives the shirt, they are unhappy because they didn’t receive any updates about their order being shipped, so they complain to both the company and the credit card company.

Then ShipStation will automatically create an invoice for the order and send it to the customer’s payment processor. The order will still get shipped out correctly, but now the company will get paid for their shirt before they have even sent it out.
