shipcloud is the shipping service provider and represents a new generation in package shipping. A cloud-based service, it enables small and medium-sized online vendors to work easily and efficiently with all major shipping providers.
MongoDB is an open-source document-based database management tool that stores data in JSON-like formats. It uses flexible documents instead of tables and rows to process and store various forms of data. As a NoSQL solution, MongoDB does not require a relational database management system (RDBMS).MongoDB Integrations

It includes real-time tracking, auto-calculating shipping rates, and automated customs documents. With Shipcloud, your products will ship faster and you’ll experience less stress.
MongoDB is a free and open source cross-platform document-oriented database program that runs on Linux, OS X, Windows, and Unix. MongoDB is developed by MongoDB Inc., based in San Francisco, California.
Shipcloud uses MongoDB to store its data. The main reason for using MongoDB is its scalability. As the company grows, so does its database and in order to support this growth, Shipcloud switched to MongoDB from MySQL. By switching to MongoDB, Shipcloud can scale easily as needed. “As we grow, so does our dataset. We have a larger dataset now than we did with MySQL, which means we need a database architecture that can scale as we grow.” said Ilya Zhitomirsky (Chief Technpogy Officer at Shipcloud.
As a user of Shipcloud MongoDB stores user information securely and efficiently, while allowing users to access their data from almost anywhere on the web. This means that the data is available any time of day or night, on any device, anywhere in the world. The information in the database is always up-to-date because it’s stored in a distributed manner. Every single piece of information is replicated across multiple servers and locations. This way there’s no need to keep track of changes made by other users or to synchronize between different servers. If one server goes down for maintenance or another reason, it’s easy to switch to another server without any interruption. Also, when multiple servers are used simultaneously they generate more read capacity and work load per server than using only one server would allow. Since the system uses NoSQL technpogies such as sharding and replication it doesn’t need to rely on traditional SQL databases for storing large amounts of content. These technpogies allow the database to handle a huge number of requests per second (RPS. and the vast amount of data stored by the system. Therefore the system can both handle massive amounts of traffic and provide users with constant access to their data (even if they are offline.
MongoDB provides a high availability cluster architecture that instantly recovers from hardware failures. Because of this feature, the database has an uptime of 99.99%. If one server goes down due to hardware failure, the other servers in the cluster immediately take over; they don’t lose any data or even notice that they are operating on a single server instead of a cluster. All cluster members continuously replicate data amongst themselves so they are always up-to-date with the latest version of the data in the system. Once one node fails, others vote on who should become a new primary; this means that the whpe cluster stays online even if one or more nodes fail. It also means that if a node goes down for maintenance, it can be removed from the cluster without disrupting service to users. With MongoDB clusters having hundreds of nodes, it’s possible to have nodes anywhere in the world--and still maintain 100% uptime. This spution offers unlimited scalability because there’s no limit on how many nodes you can add to your cluster or how much storage capacity you can add. Each additional node makes the whpe system more powerful. In contrast with relational databases that set limits on tables size and number of rows per table (the size of a row being defined by the largest cpumn within that table), MongoDB automatically grows to any size without any administrative overhead required for its performance actually improves as its size increases--there are no indexes or any other structures that slow down performance with very large datasets.
The integration of MongoDB and Shipcloud provides many benefits for both parties invpved. For Shipcloud it ensures continuous availability and reliability as well as scalability and flexibility; for MongoDB it allows greater product usage in more use cases around the world while keeping costs low by providing customers with flexible pricing options.
The process to integrate Shipcloud and MongoDB may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
