It also enables an e-commerce merchant to take care of inventory contrp and manage shipping rates with the help of ‘Shipping Rules’. Shipcloud has a simple and intuitive interface, which makes it easy to use.
Chargebee is a subscription based billing software for online businesses. It allows users to start selling online and integrate their existing business with it. Chargebee automatically generates invoices, sends them to customers and cplects payments. Chargebee also helps in generating reports and analyzing the performance of your store. It offers a range of features that can be used depending upon the requirements of the user. For example, if you are looking for a simple payment gateway, then you can install one by paying a small fee. But if you are looking for a complete SaaS spution for your business, then you can go with Chargebee Plus or Enterprise. Chargebee has more than 40 different integrations that can be used with it. Some of its major integrations include Shipcloud, MailChimp, Amazon S3, Stripe, Recurly and many more.
Integration of Shipcloud with Chargebee is very simple. In order to get started, you need to go through the fplowing steps:
Sign up at both Shipcloud and Chargebee. On both the platforms, you will find a button that says ‘Connect’. Click on it and enter your API Key from both the platforms. You should know that API Keys are necessary for integration of any platform with any other. But make sure that you don’t share your API Keys with anyone as it may compromise the security of your account. After entering your API Keys, click on TEST MODE. A popup window will appear on your screen that asks you to enter the name of your test order and generates an order number for you automatically. You can now view details about your order in both the platforms; Shipcloud and Chargebee. For example, when you generate an invoice on Chargebee, you can see the same invoice on Shipcloud as well. If you want to edit your order information in either of the platforms, then just enter the name of your order in the respective platform and make your changes accordingly. You can then view the changes made by you in both the platforms simultaneously. This means that if you change something in Chargebee, then those changes will be reflected on Shipcloud as well and vice versa. While working with orders on Shipcloud, you have 4 options of ‘Shipping Rule’ which are. ‘Default Shipping Rule (First Class)’, ‘Default Shipping Rule (Priority Mail)’, ‘Create Shipping Rule’ and ‘Shipping Rule (Flat Rate)’ respectively. The first two options mean that Shipcloud will provide you with default shipping options while creating orders on Shipcloud itself. However, if you choose the third option i.e., Create Shipping Rule, then you will have to create a custom shipping rule on both Shipcloud and Chargebee individually. The last option i.e., Shipping Rule (Flat Rate), means that all orders generated on Chargebee will be charged flat rate shipping charges regardless of the actual shipping method chosen by the customer while placing the order on Chargebee website. For example, if you choose this option while creating an order, then a customer can opt for regular shipping method (e.g., Standard First Class. but will still be charged Flat Rate Shipping Charges (i.e., $2. However, if he/she chooses Express shipping method (e.g., Priority Mail), then he/she has to pay $5 extra for Express Shipping Method + Flat Rate Shipping Charges ($2. All these options are mentioned on both Shipcloud and Chargebee websites. You can also create custom shipping rules on both platforms individually as per your requirements. If you wish to make changes in a custom shipping rule created earlier by you, then just navigate to Settings > Shipping Rules > Change Rule Details option and make necessary changes according to your needs. Custom Shipping Rules created by you are saved under ‘My Custom Shipping Rules’ section in both the platforms. After making changes in the settings section of either platform, these changes will be visible in ‘Settings’ section of both Shipcloud and Chargebee simultaneously. Like mentioned before, if you change something in Chargebee, then those changes will be reflected on Shipcloud as well and vice versa. On the other hand, if you want to delete a Custom Shipping Rule created by you on either platform or want to delete a Custom Shipping Rule from both platforms simultaneously, then just use Delete Shipping Rule feature available on both platforms respectively. When the default shipping options or custom shipping rules are used while creating orders on Shipcloud, it automatically creates shipments on Shipcloud itself and it also creates shipments on Chargebee as well but will show up only after they are shipped (i.e., once they are marked as Shipped. Similarly, if you choose Flat Rate Shipping Charges option from both platforms, then all orders generated on Chargebee will be charged flat rate shipping charges regardless of the actual shipping method chosen by the customer while placing the order on Chargebee website. However, since Shipcloud doesn’t offer flat rate shipping charges feature it has got other features like ‘Shipping Rules’ that allow users to set customized shipping rules for each order generated on Shipcloud website and thus, it automatically creates shipments on Shipcloud itself but shows up only after they are shipped (i.e., once they are marked as Shipped. The shipments created by Shipcloud always appear in ‘Shipped Shipment’ tab in both the platforms whereas shipments created by Chargebee always appear in ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab in both the platforms respectively. When Shipcloud ships out a package then it automatically updates orders status on Chargebee as well but when Chargebee ships out a package then it doesn’t update orders status on Shipcloud automatically until it is marked as Shipped (i.e., once it appears in ‘Shipped Shipment’ tab. But this doesn’t mean that Shipcloud shipments don’t appear in Chargebee at all because they do show up in ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab even before being marked as shipped but only after they are marked as shipped (i.e., once they appear in ‘Shipped Shipment’ tab. You can edit shipments created by Shipcloud or Chargebee individually on both platforms by clicking Edit button available next to them respectively (i.e., under ‘Shipped Shipment’ or ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab. Once you click edit button available next to any shipment then it will open up a popup window where you can edit tracking number or add/edit additional information about it respectively. You can also change shipment status from ‘Pending’ to ‘Shipped’ using this popup window so that it gets updated immediately across both the platforms simultaneously i.e., on Shipcloud website and Chargebee website respectively (i.e., under ‘Shipped Shipment’ or ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab. However, this feature is currently available only for shipments created by Chargebee otherwise shipment status cannot be changed from pending to shipped manually as it will not update automatically across both platforms i.e., in ‘Shipped Shipment’ tab or ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab. Moreover, even after manually changing shipment status from pending to shipped using popup window available next to any shipment i.e., under ‘Shipped Shipment’ tab or ‘Invoiced Shipment’ tab respectively, shipment details won’t appear instantly under tracking number section available under Order Info section of either platform respectively (i.e., under either ‘Order Received Details’ or ‘Order Invoiced Details’ section. You will have to refresh Order Info page after updating tracking number manually using popup window next to any shipment either available under ‘Pending Shipment Details’ section or under ‘Shipped/Invoiced Shipment Details’ section respectively so that its details appear instantly under tracking number section available under Order Info tab either under Order Received Details or Order Invoiced Details section respectively depending upon whether it is created by Shipcloud or Chargebee respectively or even after refreshing Order Info page manually tracking number won’t show
