Shipcloud
Shipcloud is a company based in the United States that offers cloud-based services for shipment tracking, regulatory compliance and customs brokerage. The company’s main product is its cloud-based platform for managing small parcel imports and exports. Shipcloud’s customers include startups, international ecommerce sellers and large shipping corporations.
Shipcloud was founded in 2012 by Jan van der Putten, who had previously worked as a software engineer at eBay, and Daniel Cottini, a former employee of Paypal’s European headquarters where he led the company’s regulatory compliance team.
Asana
Asana is a web and mobile application designed to help teams manage projects and tasks. It allows users to break down work into tasks, assign them to individuals or groups, and track progress. The top also provides visual dashboards that give users at-a-glance information about the status of their projects, including how much time has been spent on each task, how much time remains until the deadline, and where bottlenecks are.
Asana was originally created by Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and Justin Rosenstein and launched in January 2011. The idea for Asana was sparked when Moskovitz and Rosenstein were working together at Facebook, and they searched for an application that would help them organize their work. They found that traditional project management tops were too complicated for their needs. Asana is a widely used project management top with a good reputation. It is easy to use, even for people without experience in project management. Asana is used by over 3 million people (as of October 2018. which makes it one of the best tops out there. It helps millions of companies manage their workflows, but it does not have a built-in shipping spution. In order to integrate Shipcloud into your workflow you have to use the Asana integration with Shipcloud. However, this integration is not always ideal because it does not allow you to see any shipping information in the project card, which makes it hard to know what is happening with shipping. And all the information about the shipment is hidden under the ‘shipments’ tab instead of being part of your project card. Another problem with this integration is that you cannot directly connect shipments from Shipcloud to tasks in Asana, so you cannot add additional information like tracking numbers or delivery dates directly into the task. You have to first create a shipment in Shipcloud and then go to Asana to manually connect it to a task. This means that if you want to see any information about your shipments in Asana, you have to manually copy it into your task. And every time you update tracking information for your shipments in Shipcloud, you have to update it manually in Asana too. So far this integration has many flaws, but maybe future updates will change it for the better.
