SharePoint is a software application for information sharing and cplaboration. It was originally developed by Microsoft as a part of its Office product set. SharePoint was first released to the market in 2001, and it provides a platform for intranets, extranets, and public internet sites. With SharePoint, it is possible to create team sites that allow people to share notes on projects, organize calendars, keep track of tasks, and maintain document libraries. SharePoint also contains web parts that can be used to display news, blog content, or other types of custom content.

Sentry

Sentry is software designed for error tracking. It was originally developed by Stack Exchange in 2008, and it was acquired by Microsoft in 2013. The purpose of the Sentry software is to log errors in order to help developers fix bugs in software applications. Sentry is supported on the Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone platforms, and it is available in five release versions. Community (completely free), Professional ($300 per month), Standard ($600 per month), Enterprise ($1,200 per month), and Unlimited ($3,000 per month. Sentry has millions of users worldwide.

Integration of SharePoint and Sentry

SharePoint and Sentry integration is implemented through the use of the Sentry SharePoint connector. This connector can be installed on any SharePoint site in order to provide access to the Sentry error tracking service. Once this connection is established, all errors that occur when using the SharePoint site will be recorded in the Sentry database. The connector can also be configured in order to send emails when errors are detected. If the user is logged into the SharePoint site when an error occurs, they will receive an email alerting them to the problem. If not, they will receive an email when they next log into the site. There are no special requirements for installing the connector other than the basics needed to host any other type of SharePoint add-in or app. As long as the user account has sufficient rights to modify the SharePoint server software and add new items such as apps and add-ins, everything will work properly.

It provides detailed error reports . The Sentry SharePoint connector will log this information into a database that can be accessed online at any time using a web browser. There is no need to install any additional software on local computers in order to read these logs. This gives users access to detailed information about any errors that happen within their SharePoint sites.

It allows users to view historical logs . The Sentry SharePoint connector stores all of its logs in the database indefinitely. Historical logs can be viewed at any time via web browser or programmatically via REST API calls. This gives users access to data about errors that occurred months ago if necessary.

It supports multiple languages . Sentry currently has connectors available for 23 different languages including English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. However, there is no language support included with the default installation of the connector itself. It supports multiple databases . The Sentry SharePoint connector can be configured in order to use MySQL or SQL Server as its underlying database technpogy. This makes it easier for users to integrate with existing infrastructures so that they don’t have to start from scratch in order to get started using error tracking software.
