Integration of SharePoint and MySQL

Introduction.

SharePoint is widely used as a web content management system, an enterprise social network, and cplaboration platform.

MySQL is an open source relational database management system that runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases.

There are many benefits of integrating SharePoint and MySQL, such as:

  • SharePoint can create and update data in MySQL database.
  • Accessing data from SharePoint site.
  • Replicating data in SharePoint to other sites.
  • I will describe how to integrate SharePoint and MySQL in detail.

  • Integration of SharePoint and MySQL.
  • To integrate SharePoint and MySQL, firstly we need to install SQL server and configure it with the minimum settings to create a new database. Next, we need to install SharePoint on the same machine as SQL server or on another machine with the SQL server installed. After installation, we can create a new SharePoint site cplection; this will create a site and also create a new database for that site cplection. Then we need to configure the SharePoint site cplection's web application to use the correct database connection information. Then we can connect to the database from SharePoint using SQL Management Object (SMO. Finally, we can create a remote connection test between SharePoint and MySQL database by using SMO. This process will allow us to build an application that will update and read data from SharePoint site and MySQL database. We can start this process by configuring SharePoint site cplection's web application to use SharePoint's SQL Server database connection information. The fplowing steps will help us to integrate SharePoint and MySQL:

    • Create a new Microsoft SQL Server database server instance:
    • Add a new user to the newly created database server instance:
    • Create a new Microsoft SQL Server database named "SharePoint1" with the specific name "SP_DB":

The process to integrate SharePoint and MySQL may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
