Integrate Reddit with Mautic

Reddit is a social news and entertainment website where registered users can submit content such as text posts or direct links. Registered users can then vote submissions up or down to organize the posts and determine their position on the site’s pages. In addition, Reddit provides discussion forums for topics of interest called “subreddits”. Using these subreddits, Redditors can share comments about their favorite TV show or video game.

Mautic was built to handle marketing automation in a simpler, more organized fashion than any other marketing platform on the market today. It’s a marketing automation platform built for marketers by marketers.

In order to integrate Reddit and Mautic, there are several steps that need to be done. The first step is to create an account on Reddit. To do this, you can visit https://www.reddit.com/. Then, you will need to click the red button that says “Sign up for Reddit”. Next, you will need to input your username, password, and email address. Finally, you need to click the blue button that says “Create an account”. After you have created your account, it is time to link your accounts. To do this, you will need to go to https://mautic.org/app/dashboard/settings/integrations/reddit/ . From here, click the red button that says “Link Your Account”. After you click this button, it is time to link your accounts. To do this, click the green button that says “Authorize with Reddit”. Next, you will need to authorize Mautic with Reddit. To do this, you will need to go back to http://www.reddit.com/login/ and log into your Reddit account. Once you are logged into your account, you can then click the green button that says “Allow”. Now that your accounts are linked, it is time to create a new process in Mautic with the information from Reddit. To do this, you will need to go to https://mautic.org/app/dashboard/processew/ . Then input the fplowing information into the fields on this page:

Name of the process. rt_submission

Email of the contact person for this process. Reddit Username

Contact method for this process. Email

Next, you will need to select the type of process. For this process, we are going to select “Web Form Submission”. This means that when someone fills out a form on Reddit using Mautic, it will trigger this process in Mautic. Next, select the field on Reddit where you want this process to be triggered from. If you click the gray question mark icon next to the field name “Form Field”, it will give you a drop down of different types of fields on Reddit that you can choose from. Some examples of these fields are titles of posts, post content, user flair text, user names, user status message text, user avatar image url, etc. After you have chosen your field on Reddit where you want this process to be triggered from, enter some sample data into each field on this page so it can test to make sure everything is working properly before moving onto the next step. Now that your process is set up correctly with some sample data in it, it is time to move onto the next step which is creating a new campaign in Mautic which uses this process as its trigger as well as its destination as well as its activities. To do this, go back to https://mautic.org/app/dashboard/campaignsew/ and input the fplowing information:

Name. Reddit Submission Campaign

Destination. rt_submission

Trigger. Web form submission

Activity. Send email template to contacts (or whichever one you choose)

Now that we have created our process and our campaign in Mautic which uses this process as its trigger as well as its destination as well as its activity, we can now move onto the next step which is creating a subscriber list in Mautic based off of our campaign. To do this, go back to https://mautic.org/app/dashboard/listsew/ and input the fplowing information:

Name. Subscribers for Reddit Submission Campaign

Destination. rt_submission (the same one we used previously)

Grouping. People who submitted a web form (or whichever one you choose)
