A product may have different lifecycles for different companies or modules depending on when they were introduced into the system for each company or module. Quotes can be created for purchasing departments in one company but they can be validated by another company’s purchasing department if cross-company validation is required. Orders can be created for sales departments in one company but they can be validated by another company’s sales department if cross-company validation is required. The same comments apply to invoices, credit notes, billing rates, etc. Workflow rules are invoked according to the user’s rpe within the company structure. For example if you are an employee of Example Ltd you will see workflows associated with this company only but if you are a customer of Example Ltd you will see workflows associated with this company but also those associated with its subsidiaries which may be entirely unrelated to your account at Example Ltd! There are no limits to what you can do with workflow rules – they are essentially a mini programming language that allows you to implement any business process you require for your company or organization….etc.
