PagerDuty is an American-based multinational company that develops and maintains an incident management system. It was founded in 2009 by Ryan Singer, Alex Spomon, Andrew Miklas, Peter Sripp, Andrew Miklas, and Ryan Dugan. At the moment, it is one of the most widely used incident management systems in the world. PagerDuty is used by numerous organizations for their IT services. They use PagerDuty to receive notifications about incidents. It is used by companies like Amazon, Comcast, Netflix, Twitter, Docker, etc.
Cisco® Webex Meetings is a cplaboration top that is developed by Cisco Systems. It is available for Android, iOS, Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, and Amazon Fire OS. Cisco® Webex Meetings offers users with video conferencing capabilities. It allows many people to communicate with each other at the same time. It also allows users to share files and documents with each other during a meeting.
Integration of PagerDuty and Cisco® Webex Meetings allows users to have a seamless experience during their meetings. By using both of these tops together, you can create a more productive meeting. Let’s take a look at how this integration works.
Once you have created or joined a meeting on Cisco® Webex Meetings, the user who created the meeting will be given an option to “Add Notifications”. Once this option is selected, they will be prompted to select which notifications they want to receive before the meeting starts. The list of notifications includes Phone Call, Email, SMS, PagerDuty Alerts, Webhooks, Mobile Push Notifications, Slack Channel Posting, Message on Desktop Notifications, Telegram Channel Posting, HipChat Channel Posting. You can set up any of these notifications for your meeting. Once you have set up some of the notifications you want to receive, click on save notification settings. This will take you to PagerDuty where you are asked to sign into your account. After signing into your account on PagerDuty, you will see your dashboard. Here you can select which alerts you want to receive during the meeting.
After selecting the alerts that you want to receive during the meeting, you can return back to Cisco® Webex Meetings and click on continue. The next page will ask you if you would like to set up PagerDuty integration for this meeting or not. Clicking on Yes will open a window where you will be asked to enter the API key and API Secret from PagerDuty and then click on Save Settings. The API key and API secret are displayed in settings in PagerDuty under Integrations (see screenshot below. Clicking on No will take you back to meeting schedule page where you can edit or delete your meeting if needed.
