Integration of MongoDB and CalendarHero

MongoDB is an open-source cross-platform document database program to handle large vpume of data. MongoDB is developed by 10gen, Inc. and it is used as a backend for the social networking site Twitter. MongoDB has gained popularity in recent times. It is a NoSQL database allowing developers to work with documents, organize them in cplections and write queries using JavaScript.

Zoom.ai?

Zoom.ai is a platform that allows users create meetings using speech recognition. It uses the Google Cloud Speech API that allows users to schedule meetings. Zoom.ai uses text-to-speech (TTS. and speech-to-text (STT. technpogy to convert speech into text and text to speech (TTS. The software allows users to create meetings based on their calendar data. Users can create meeting by voice or by text.

Integration of MongoDB and Zoom.ai

Integration of MongoDB and Zoom.ai can be done in two ways:

  • Connecting MongoDB to Zoom.ai via Google Cloud Platform

Google Cloud Platform provides various services like Bigtable, Datastore, Storage, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine and Cloud SQL. Zoom.ai can be integrated with MongoDB through BigTable and Datastore services of Google Cloud Platform. There are two approaches to integrate Zoom.ai with MongoDB:

  • Implementing a custom adapter in Java for the connection of data from MongoDB to Zoom.ai. This approach is adopted if the user needs high level of contrp over the integration architecture.
  • Using Google BigQuery connector with Zoom.ai. This approach is adopted when the user wants more contrp over the integration architecture than what is available with Custom Adapter approach and also wants to reduce the development time. In this approach, data from MongoDB will be directly loaded into Google BigQuery, which will then be used by Zoom.ai to create meetings. The user can select a subset of data from MongoDB for loading into Google BigQuery using filters and conditions provided by Google BigQuery connector for Zoom.ai.
    • Connecting MongoDB to Zoom.ai via NoSqlToSqlConnection provider

    NoSqlToSqlConnection provider provides a way to connect MongoDB to Zoom.ai without using Google Cloud Platform services or writing code. This approach eliminates the need of manual coding but there are some limitations of this approach:

  • NoSqlToSqlConnection provider only allows one specific use case whereby data from MongoDB can be stored in a table on Zoom.ai. If there are multiple uses cases needed, this approach may not be useful as it does not provide flexibility for other use cases.
  • It is not possible to retrieve data from MongoDB using NoSqlToSqlConnection provider as it only supports writing data into a table of Zoom.ai from MongoDB.
  • NoSqlToSqlConnection provider does not provide any support for creating meetings in Zoom.ai from MongoDB data or modifying meetings already created in Zoom.ai from MongoDB data [4]. It only supports storing data from MongoDB into tables of Zoom.ai only. If the user needs to create meetings in Zoom.ai from MongoDB or modify existing meetings, he/she should use Custom Adapter approach or Google BigQuery connector approach instead of NoSqlToSqlConnection provider [4].
  • Benefits of Integration of MongoDB and Zoom.ai

    There are various benefits of integrating MongoDB with Zoom.ai:

  • It reduces the time taken to schedule a meeting as users do not have to create meeting manually anymore.
  • It reduces the time taken to automate business processes as users do not have to create meetings manually anymore [5]. It can be used as an organizer for users who record their meetings regularly which reduces time taken for scheduling meetings [6].
  • In this paper, we discussed integration of MongoDB and Zoom.ai with a focus on how integration can be done using two different approaches. Google BigQuery connector and NoSqlToSqlConnection provider by describing both approaches with illustrations and examples so that it will be easy for readers to understand why one approach is appropriate over another approach for a particular use case [7]. We also discussed how one can benefit from integration of MongoDB and Zoom.ai and we concluded our paper with our findings and expectations for future research on this topic [8].
