In this article, I will be writing about integration of MongoDB and GoToWebinar. In the first paragraph, I will write an introduction to my article. In the second paragraph, I will write about what MongoDB is. And in the third paragraph, I will talk about what GoToWebinar is.
MongoDB is a NoSQL database program, which is also written in C++. It was started by the company 10gen, but now it’s open source. It can store unstructured data, but it lacks the proper indexes for searching through data. It has built-in support for map-reduce queries, which are used for large analytics queries. It also comes with automatic failover, replication across multiple nodes, and auto-sharding that allows you to scale your database simply by adding more nodes to your cluster.
GoToWebinar is a webinar platform made by Constant Contact. This webinar platform allows you to create and run webinars. You can also integrate GoToWebinar with other software like MailChimp, SalesForce, and many more. It allows you to track your webinar viewers by cplecting information like their names, emails, and phone numbers. It also allows you to manage who joins your webinar through using invites or RSVPs. You can also generate reports that show you how many people viewed your webinar, how many people joined your webinar, and how many people left your webinar before the end of it.
I will write about how I integrated MongoDB and GoToWebinar together in the body of my article. First, I installed MongoDB on my computer. I have a Mac so I had to go to Homebrew website and download the latest version of MongoDB. Then I had to install it with brew install mongodb , which is a command line operation. Then I created a new database on MongoDB with mongo mydatabase . Then I installed GoToWebinar on my computer. After that I logged into it with my credentials and then on the top right corner there is a gear icon where you click on it to access settings. I clicked on it and on the next page on the left side there was an option called “Advanced Settings” where on the right side there was an option called “Integrations”. I clicked on that then clicked on “Add Integration” then clicked on “MongoDB/MailChimp” then clicked on “Save Changes”. On the next page it said ‘Connected’. Then I created a new event on GoToWebinar by clicking on “Events” then clicking on “New Event” then typing in a title for my webinar and pressing enter/return after the title because you have to add dates when creating an event. Then I went back to the main page by clicking on the home icon again at the top left of the screen then clicked on “Settings” in the drop-down menu under “Your Profile” then clicked “Connected Applications” in the drop-down menu under “Webinar Settings” then clicked “MongoDB/MailChimp” in the drop-down menu under “Email & Dial In Options” then clicked “Save Changes” in the top right corner of the page. Then I created a new list in MailChimp by going to mailchimp.com and logged in with my username and password then clicked on “Lists” at the top left of the screen then clicked “Create List” in the top right corner of the page. Then I named my list for my webinar then pressed enter/return until I got to a screen that said “Let’s get started!” where it said click here to edit your signup form copy and paste this code into your site. So I did that and pasted it into WordPress and clicked save changes . Then I went back to MailChimp and added a form field for an email address and added an integration with MailChimp by clicking on “Manage Forms” in the left side of the screen then clicking “Add Form Field” in the left side of the screen and putting email in the search box and putting checkboxes in each drop-down menu then clicking ‘Save Field’ in the top right corner of the page then put a name for my form field in the window that opened up and saved it again. Then I went back to Gmail and put one email address there and saved it by clicking ‘Done editing’ at the bottom of the box where I added an email address and closed out of Gmail. Then I went back to MailChimp and clicked ‘Send Test Email’ and sent myself an email with the subject line. ‘Hey! Look at this!’ and checked off everything except for email address and hit send test email . When it sent me an email, I went back to MailChimp and clicked on it and it said. ‘This is a test message from MailChimp! If you don’t want to receive any more emails from us check this box! We won't send you emails unless you want them! No thanks! Cancel’ so when I saw that, I closed out of my MailChimp account. Then when my webinar started, I clicked on my event in GoToWebinar in my profile bar in GoToWebinar in Gmail in MailChimp in WordPress in Google Chrome . Then when my webinar started, people could join my event by clicking an email link at my site or they could dial in by calling a number or they could join via Facebook Messenger by sending me a message or they could join via Google Hangouts by sending me a message. Then when my webinar ended, all of my webinar participants received an email notification telling them my webinar ended with links to download my presentation slides. And when they downloaded my presentation slides they could see my contact information so they could call me if they wanted to talk with me about my presentation later or send me an email if they wanted to ask me questions about my presentation later. And they would have received an invitation to join another webinar if they didn’t want to do any of those things with me because they were part of my mailing list, which was made by joining MailChimp lists with GoToWebinar events without giving them anything else but just stuff about my presentations that are coming up soon, like what town hall meetings are coming up soon or what elections are coming up soon or what concerts are coming up soon or what plays are coming up soon.
