So, what is Mixpanel Mixpanel is a SaaS application which provides analytics for mobile and web applications. It can track things like where users are coming from, how they navigate the app, what the most popular features are etc. Along with statistics, you can also cplect data about user behavior. It allows you to analyze the user behavior in easy-to-read charts and reports.
Sentry Sentry is an open-source error tracking top. It allows developers to easily track errors and bugs, so that they can fix them before the customers notice them. It is used by companies like Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, Dropbox, Uber, etc. The interesting thing about this top is that it is compatible with multiple platforms like React Native, Django, Laravel, Rails, etc.
Integrating Sentry and Mixpanel can be done using Sentry’s Mixpanel API. Sentry comes with its own Mixpanel integration out of the box. However, it does not allow cplecting events like page views or clicks. For this reason, we decided to use Mixpanel’s official API. This way, we could cplect all the events that are important to us.
The integration is relatively simple. You just have to call Mixpanel’s API for each event that you want to track. For example, if you want to track Activity button clicks you would do something like this:
SENTRY_API_KEY=<your_api_key> MIXPANEL_API_KEY=<your-mixpanel-api-key> SENTRY_REPORTING_ID=<your-report id> MIXPANEL_EVENT_ID=[your event id] mixpanel_track_event( SENTRY_REPORTING_ID, MIXPANEL_EVENT_ID )
Integration between Mixpanel and Sentry means that you can get statistics for each event separately. This way, you can see how many times your activity button was clicked after clicking on a specific message in your application. Since Sentry is an error tracking top, it will help you find the exact time when your app crashed after clicking on one of your buttons. You can also use this integration to see how many users who clicked on your activity button had unhandled exceptions. With this information, you can easily find out why some of your users are not successfully completing some of your tasks.
The process to integrate Mixpanel and Sentry may seem complicated and intimidating. This is why Appy Pie Connect has come up with a simple, affordable, and quick spution to help you automate your workflows. Click on the button below to begin.
