Get notified via email or text message when someone sends you an email or when someone joins or leaves your mailing list or slack channel. This feature allows you to add custom fields on various pages within Mailshake so that people can fill out info about themselves that is pertinent only for the communication stream they are invpved in (ex.. their title, city/state/country they work in, etc.. If there are several communication streams being used within Mailshake with different custom fields being used for each one, these custom fields can be accessed via drop down menus rather than having everyone have access throughout every communication stream so they know what information applies specifically to their stream and what does not apply because it’s irrelevant for them or because they shouldn’t be accessing it yet (for example. password reset link. It would be frustrating if people had access to all custom field options and could accidentally select options that didn’t apply for them or their stream(s), so limiting access ensures that this doesn’t happen accidentally or on purpose. Some might think it would be better just not include any custom fields at all than limit access because it limits functionality but I think this case study will explain why having access limited actually increases functionality because it prevents people from accessing information unnecessarily while still giving them access when they need it and only when they need it (for example. making sure team members don’t accidentally change their password before they should.
Here’s an example of how custom fields could look like:
