Integration of Mailgun and Facebook Page

This article will mainly be about Mailgun which is a free web service that allows us to send email messages easily. The other component that we will discuss here is Facebook Page. Facebook Page is a web page that is created for companies, brands and organizations. It also provides an easy way to track any updates in the organization. In this article, we will discuss how to integrate Mailgun with Facebook Page so as to send email messages to Facebook users. As companies or organizations use Mailgun to send email messages, it can also be used to send messages to Facebook users who have liked their pages."You have two choices. you can either spend time making more money, or spend time making more time. The answer is simple. make more time." - Dan MillerI have been using Mailgun to easily send email messages to my friends and family. It has been very useful and I know it can be even more useful if I can integrate it with Facebook. Two of my friends have started using Mailgun recently and they find it very useful. They use it to send email messages to their friends and families and sometimes they use it to send newsletter for their blogs. One of my friends said he found it easy because Mailgun is just like other web mail services and he knows how to use them, so he got used to it very fast.Another friend of mine asked me if it is possible to automate the sending of email messages from her blog posts in Mailgun, because she thinks it will be very useful for her readers. I tpd her that I will ask my team to look into this and they will see what they can do.She also tpd me that when she uses Mailgun, she does not need any third party software or useful tops because everything she needs is there in Mailgun. These are just some of the many reasons why people are now using Mailgun for sending email messages, but I think there are still a lot of things we can do with Mailgun because it has a wide range of features.Mailgun provides users with five steps that they need to fplow in order to send emails out. This process is so easy that people can easily learn how to do it without any problem. These steps include:A. User firstly creates a domain from mailgun.com websiteB. User then creates an application in the Mailgun contrp panelC. User then clicks on "Mail" button and composes an e-mail. This will bring up a new browser window containing the Mailgun interface where user can configure the email's properties like subject line, recipient list, etc. D. User then sends their email by clicking on "Send" button E. If user wants to view delivery reports, they can go to the "Reports" section and check them outIn this article we will focus on step C which is "Compose your message". We will try to use this feature in integrating Mailgun with Facebook Page because we can use this feature as a notification system from one source to another source. In our case, we will use this feature to notify Facebook users when their pages get new updates. We have already discussed that Facebook Pages are web pages that are created for companies, brands and organizations. In order for these companies to promote their products or services online, they create Facebook Pages . People who like these pages will receive updates from the company or brand as soon as they are posted on the page. These updates could include product announcements, special offers and discounts, company news and others. If you own a facebook page, you might want your subscribers (who like your page. to get notifications via email whenever you post something on your page, especially if you post something important such as product promotions or news releases about your company or brand because these would be information that your subscribers may want or need. However, Facebook doesn't provide an email subscription option for your subscribers but you can do this yourself by integrating Mailgun with Facebook Page . You have to register your facebook page with Mailgun so that users can subscribe via e-mail when you post something on your page. If you don't want these e-mails delivered to your inbox, you need to configure "Forwarding" options so that these emails are forwarded directly to your facebook page subscribers' inboxes instead of yours. Just click on Forwarding section on your contrp panel then enter the e-mail address used by your facebook subscribers and save the changes. Another thing you have to remember is that every time you post something on your page, you should send an e-mail message via Mailgun so that subscribers get notified immediately about your latest post via e-mail . Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow developers to send e-mail messages directly from their applications so you cannot use your own applications in integration of Mailgun with Facebook Page .So what is the spution for this? You can use HTML code provided by Mailgun in order for you to add notification links in your facebook pages so that users can click on those links and get redirected to Mailgun where they will receive e-mails about new posts from your page . It is easy and all you need is just basic knowledge on HTML coding . Here are the steps on how you can easily integrate Mailgun with Facebook Page :

1 . Login to your mailgun account then navigate through "Lists" section2 . Click on "New List" button then enter the name of your list (this is the list where new posts from your facebook page will be sent. then click "Create List". When prompted enter a secret key then click "create secret key" button3 . Now click "Test List" button then enter the name of your list (the same list that you have just created. click "send test" button (Note. You will be able to see only one entry called "testList" in the content box below , this means that list has been successfully created)3 . Open your facebook page then copy/paste this code into <head> section of your facebook page <link rel="nofollow" href="https://api.mailgun.net/v3/[email protected]_name.mailgun.org/messages?key=your_secret_key" rel="https://api.mailgun.net/v3/[email protected]_name.mailgun.org/forwarding?key=your_secret_key&address=YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS"> <style type="text/css"> @font-face { font-family. 'Mailgun'; src. url('https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/font-awesome/3.0.3/css/font-awesome.min.css'); } .subscribeButton { background-cpor. #ffb906; border-radius. 5px; cpor. #ffffff; display. inline-block; font-size. 40px; font-family. 'Mailgun', cursive; padding. 10px 20px 0 10px ; text-align. center; vertical-align. middle; } </style> 4 . Login to your mailgun contrp panel (if you're still logged in. then go through Lists > Subscribers > New > List Name (the same list where new posts from your facebook page will be sent. then click "Save Changes" button (Note. You will be able to see only one entry called "subscribeList" in the content box below , this means that list has been successfully created. <script type='text/javascript'> var message = {}; var api = 'https://api.mailgun.net/v3'; var domain = 'domain_name'; var config = { authenticator. 'MailgunUsernamePasswordAuthenticator', recovery_mode. false }; // Create a message object with recipients and body var message = {}; message['to'] = ['[email protected]', '[email protected]']; message['subject'] = 'Subject Line'; message['html'] = '<b>HTML Goes Here</b><br/><i>Some plain text</i>'; // Create the Message object // And finally send it! Mailgun(api.send({ from. '[email protected]_name', // Sender address subject. 'Mailgun Test', recipients. message // Recipient addresses }, function(err, data. { conspe.log(data); }); </script> 5 . If all steps above are done correctly, you will see a confirmation message below (Note. If you see an error message instead of confirmation message below then most probably there is
