On January 10, 2007, Steve Jobs announced an agreement to acquire Nokia Corporation’s mobile phone business for $150 million and selling Microsoft Windows Mobile-based devices by 2010. On June 11, 2008, Apple released its own set of Arabic and Hebrew fonts for Mac OS X and Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard. The fonts will be included in Mac OS X v10.6 “Snow Leopard” for free.

On January 24, 2009, Apple released new iMacs with Intel Core 2 Duo processors supporting up to 16 GB of RAM, higher respution LCDs with LED backlighting, improved graphics processing unit (GPU. performance on certain models, an updated Internet Explorer web browser with support for HTML 5 video on YouTube and Vimeo, support for Apple’s Front Row media browser on an external display, new iLife applications with interface improvements on the iMac including iPhoto 9.0.2, iWeb 9.0.2, iMovie HD 9.0.2 with support for 1080p video output on some models, GarageBand ‘09 with support for multi-track recording on some models, and new application bundles including Logic Express 9 which includes Logic Pro 9, MainStage 2 which includes MainStage 2, Soundtrack Pro 3 which includes Soundtrack Pro 3, Compressor 3 which includes Final Cut Studio 3 Advanced Content Creation Tops, and Aperture 3 which includes Aperture 3 Professional Image Capture Software.

The new 21.5-inch iMac features a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066 MHz frontside bus and 4 GB of RAM standard. It also features ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT (256 MB GDDR3 SDRAM. graphics with either a 250 GB (7200 rpm. or 320 GB (5400 rpm. hard drive.

The new 27-inch iMac features a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a 1066 MHz frontside bus and 4 GB of RAM standard. It also features ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO (512 MB GDDR3 SDRAM. graphics with either a 250 GB (7200 rpm. or 320 GB (5400 rpm. hard drive.

On May 16, 2009, Apple released an update that restored the ability to boot into Mac OS 9 on compatible systems with Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” installed using Apple’s Boot Camp Assistant software. This functionality was removed from 10.5 “Leopard” because Boot Camp was not yet available at the time of initial release; however this feature is now available in 10.5.3 update released on March 17, 2010

On June 7, 2009 Apple unveiled Boot Camp 3 for Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard”, allowing users to run Windows XP SP3 or later natively on their Intel-based Macs without having to reboot into Windows under emulation using Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion virtual machines. The update also enables 32-bit drivers for Windows XP to be used while running Windows natively on a 64-bit Intel Mac via Boot Camp 3. Apple also introduced a beta version of a utility called Boot Camp Assistant that allows users to manage settings related to partitioning disks and installing Windows XP on supported Intel Macs from within Mac OS X rather than from Windows itself
