Integrate HTML/CSS to Image with MongoDB

HTML/CSS to Image is a service that converts HTML pages into images. It can be used as a simple web host for static websites and does not require a database. It stores the images as a cplection on a MongoDB, a NoSQL database. This project is hosted on Heroku.com.

By using HTML/CSS to Image, you can have a static website without having to worry about setting up a web server. In addition, you can use the same code on both your desktop and mobile device. Also, you can easily share your website with others by sending them the image link.

As mentioned previously, HTML/CSS to Image converts HTML pages into images. The front-end language of its website is HTML and CSS. On the backend of its website, it uses an open source program called PhantomJS2 to render the HTML pages as images. After the website is rendered as an image, it uses MongoDB as a database.

To make this work, we need to install PhantomJS and MongoDB on the computer where we will be running the code (Linux or Mac. Then we need to configure them with their respective dependencies and setup our server with npm and git. After we have installed and configured everything, we can start up our server and test out our code with a basic example.

Since this project is hosted on Heroku, we do not need to set up our own server. We will just be using Heroku to test out our code. But if we were hosting our own server, we would need to write the web server. We would also need to write the client for PhantomJS and MongoDB so they can communicate with each other.

The purpose of HTML/CSS to Image is to convert HTML pages into images and store them as files on a MongoDB database. When an HTML page is converted into an image file and stored in a MongoDB database, there are several benefits:

• You don’t need to setup a web server to host your website because you are using Heroku for this example.
• You can easily share your website with others by sending them the image link.
• You don’t have to worry about setting up a database because all the data is stored in MongoDB which is already setup for you.
• You can use the same code on both your desktop computer and mobile device because it will run on any browser that supports JavaScript.
