Integration of Google Meet and Amazon DynamoDB

Google Meet?

Google Meet is a cloud-hosted service developed by Google. Google Meet is primarily used for video conferencing. The video conference facilities include video, voice chat and screen sharing. The service is compatible with some Android based products like Android phones and some tablets. The service is also compatible with iOS devices like iPhones and iPads. A Google Meet account can be created directly on the application or through the website of Google Meet. The service is free of cost and it has unlimited storage. The conference facilities are available for up to 100 people at a time. The service was launched in November 2016. (Source. https://www.google.com/meet/)

Amazon DynamoDB?

Amazon DynamoDB is a NoSQL database service developed by Amazon Web Services (AWS. It is mainly used for backend services of mobile applications. It is compatible with Android, iOS and web applications. The data of the application that uses Amazon DynamoDB can be accessed using APIs. The data of the application that uses Amazon DynamoDB cannot be accessed by SQL queries. The API requests are sent to a proxy server which then sends the request to a DynamoDB cluster. The response from the DynamoDB cluster is then sent back to the API requests that were sent by the API endpoint. These API endpoints can be hosted on any part of the network as long as they have Internet access. In case an API endpoint goes offline, its API requests are redirected to another API endpoint.

Integration of Google Meet and Amazon DynamoDB

Google Meet and Amazon DynamoDB can be integrated together to create a video conferencing app that can be used on mobile devices. The app will be able to save the video recordings of the video conferences that take place in it, automatically. These videos can then be easily accessed by the users of these devices anytime they want. To have a better understanding, let’s have a look at how this integration will work:

After logging in to their respective accounts, a user opens the app which uses Google Meet and Amazon DynamoDB to do video conferencing. The user chooses who he wants to invite from his contact list or from his phone’s address book. After choosing the contacts, all the contacts that he has chosen will receive a text message containing a link that will allow them to join this video conference. If they click on that link, they will first be asked to log in to their respective accounts and then to confirm their participation in this video conference, by clicking on a button that will appear on their browsers once they open the link in their browsers. Once all the participants have joined this video conference, the host can begin the video conference as usual. If one of the participants leaves the video conference, he will automatically be removed from this list of participants. This participant will also automatically receive a notification through text message or through email about his removal from this list of participants and about the continued progress of this video conference and its other participants and host and about the progress of the recorded videos that were previously saved by this app. This saved video can then be accessed later by these participants and host and by anyone else who wishes to view the recorded videos through the same app or through any other web browser or smart device or computer or laptop or tablet etc.

Benefits of Integration of Google Meet and Amazon DynamoDB

Benefits of integration of these two technpogies would include:

  • High quality video conferencing facility for large groups of participants without any charging restrictions whatsoever;
  • Better experience for users because of no need for them to download any software or wait for any software updates;
  • Improved security through integration of Google Meet’s strong authentication mechanism with Amazon’s highly secure data storage mechanism;
  • Better user experience through integration of Google Meet’s high quality video conferencing facility with Amazon’s exceptional cloud storage facility;
  • Ability to save live recordings within the app itself that can then be shared with other users through social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc.;
  • Ability for users to access their recorded files anytime they want so long as they have internet access;
  • Increased stability because of integration of Google Meet’s powerful software infrastructure with Amazon’s extremely reliable infrastructure;
